Minor corrosion can be addressed with cleaning and coating the pin to prevent further issue but if your pin is bent I suggest you replace it.
As for the useable life of a hitch pin, that cannot be established due to too many variable such as environmental conditions, and use during time frame. You do not need to replace your axle. If you have brake flanges on your current axle, then you can simply add the brake assemblies, hub/drum assemblies, and wiring and be good to go. The 3,500 lb axles are all the same spindle measurements so I recommend the following parts:

You can use the Hopkins 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket # HM40975 to replace your factory 7 and 4 pole socket on your 2017 Ford F-350.
