One of the more popular cooling systems available, the radiator-style, plate-and-fin heat exchanger provides increased surface area so that fluids can spread out along the finned chambers to cool faster. In addition to the increased surface area, this cooler also features turbulator technology, whereby fluids are agitated continuously, not only to facilitate heat transfer, but also to prevent any undesirable drop in pressure.

Jeep Wrangler
The product is great, the only issue I had was that it did not have the correct connectors for the Jeep Wrangler, but I was able to get some quickly. It's kept my Jeep's Trans fluid temp nice and cool, even when pulling my 3k pound travel trailer.. GREAT!1651335

Easy to install and has worked great on my '06 4Runner v6. A little extra piece of mind for the mountains. This size just barely fits on the passenger side of the radiator - there is a central, vertical support bar behind the grill that prevents a wider cooler from fitting.1025788
I can not install the transmission cooler BECAUSE the other parts ordered has not arrived.1553715

This Transmission cooler really works well. It keeps my transmission much cooler while towing heavy trailers. I connected it in series with the factory coolers for a lower operating temperature. If towing or hauling heavy loads I recommend this plate cooler. Also plates remove more heat than tubes. 804231

This cooler is great. The transmission even towing rarely ever gets above 150 degrees. Heat is the main cause of transmission failure and fluid turning to varnish. Highly recommend this cooler.

Packaging was damaged but no damage to cooler due to solid construction. Had done online searches for installation tips and suggestions. All very beneficial. However, this cooler is larger than many I saw online and I had to find an alternate installation location. I was able to find a suitable location in front of radiator and minor modification (drilled two additional mounting holes in mount bracket and trimmed one corner for clearance.) Overall has shown lower transmission operating temps. Have not towed since installation and hope that lower temps carry over to towing a load. I give this product, shipping, and customer service a thumbs up. 644257

This was easy to mount in front of the radiator, and connections were correct to run as 2nd trans cooler for Armada, towing 6500lbs. Immediate change to about 15-20 degrees on long uphill climbs. Just need to inform the tranny guys that it takes more fluid whenever you get a change.1122613

Replaced Trans cooler on 1 ton. Temps running lot lower than stock cooler. 160621

Parts arrived fast and in good condition. My setup needs recessed mounting, and I must use the cooler's bolt holes for proper clearence and support. Supplied plastic ties and foam are not quite enough for a secure mounting, and the supplied hose barb fittings are nice aluminum, but I need a 1/2" barb end, not 3/8". These little things are no problem. I'm happy and will buy from e-trailer again.1091069

For your 2012 Nissan Titan I recommend Derale Transmission Cooler # D13614. This is a Class V cooler meaning that it is very efficient and will provide a large cooling capacity.
The best place to mount the cooler is right behind the grille/in front of the AC condenser core. It can get the most airflow in this position. The line from the transmission will go from the tranny to the factory cooler. From there it needs to go to the new supplemental cooler and then back to the transmission.

If you are needing a larger cooler that has 1/2" fittings then you very well could install the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13614 on your 2010 Ford Escape. Just be sure that you have enough room for the cooler itself (see attached photo).
Just please note that even though aftermarket coolers can be very effective, we don't really recommend using them as a replacement for the OEM cooler as they are really meant to be a supplement to the OEM cooler. view full answer...
The best transmission cooler kit for your 2018 Ram 3500 Dually with the 6.7 Cummins Turbo Diesel engine is going to be the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/ NPT Inlets item # D13611. This plate-and-fin heat exchanger provides increased surface area so that fluids can spread out along the finned chambers to cool faster. In addition to the increased surface area, this cooler also features turbulator technology, whereby fluids are agitated continuously. I have linked... view full answer...
When picking out a transmission cooler for a vehicle you really want to pick out the largest and most efficient style of cooler that will fit the available space in front of your radiator/condenser/intercooler.
If you have room for it the Derale Cooler part # D13614 would be a great choice as it is a large plate fin cooler that would do an excellent job cooling your transmission fluid. You will also need the fitting # D13025 to make the install a bit easier. view full answer...
If you choose to bypass the factory transmission cooler on your 2005 Chevy Tahoe then I recommend a large cooler that will fit and the most efficient design. If it were me I would go with cooler kit # D13614. It is rated ad a Class V, extra efficient, which would definitely work better than the factory cooler.
Remember that you will need to plug the factory cooler inlet and outlet if you bypass it with this method. I have linked a video review of this cooler and a link to our help article... view full answer...
The Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler # D13614 that you referenced would be a good choice for your 2010 Chevy 1500 truck. This cooler has a GVW rating of 22,500 lbs.
You can either bypass the factory cooler altogether, or you can run the coolers one after the other. I would recommend you run the fluid first through the factory cooler and then to the # D13614 and then back to your transmission. This would optimize the cooling of your transmission fluid.
I attached an FAQ... view full answer...
A lot of people want to bypass the factory transmission coolers located inside the radiator. It is permissible to do so provided that the cooler is efficient enough. For this we recommend either going with the largest cooler that will fit in the engine compartment or the most efficient design.
The most efficient design is a stacked plate such as # D13403. If you want to go with a plate fin design you can use # D13614. These are both rated as Class V which is the highest available.

Since you will be pushing the towing limits of your 2007 Chrysler Town and Country it would be a good idea to use an additional transmission cooler as well as a weight distribution (WD) system to help level your entire towing setup. The WD system will actually do a better job at leveling your towing setup than suspension enhancement will.
For a transmission cooler I recommend the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13614 because it is a Class V plate-fin cooler which... view full answer...
When installing the Derale # D15902, the Universal thermostatic sandwich adapter is used to add your oil lines to the cooler. It's not necessary to install the adapter during installation if you don't want to have your oil cooled as well. Using this cooler without the adapter will only bring the temperature of your coolant down and not the engine oil with this type of installation.
You could look to see if there is an oil filter available that would allow you to use this feature or you... view full answer...
If the owner's manual for your 2009 Toyota Tacoma lists a towing capacity of 6,500 pounds then it's safe to tow up to this limit, however as you probably realize, the closer you creep up to this limit the more you're really going to feel the truck work. For example, I can probably run a couple miles without stopping but it's not going to be pretty. Over time this kind of stress can lead to premature wear on various truck components.
Now with all of that being said a 4,500 pound trailer... view full answer...
As far as transmission coolers go, you cannot cool transmission fluid too much, so installing the largest cooler that space will allow is perfectly fine and will benefit your transmission the most.
The trailer and Jeep you will be towing will probably add up to about 7,000 lbs so I would recommend the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, item # D13614. This cooler measures 11 inches wide x 11-3/8 inches tall x 1-1/4 inches deep, so you will need to make sure there is room... view full answer...
A supplemental transmission cooler like the Derale # D13614 is designed to work in addition to the OEM cooler on your 1998 Dodge Dakota. So no, it won't be rid of your current transmission cooler. The adapter kit # D13028 is exactly what you need to perform this installation. Just make sure that you have enough room in your engine compartment for this cooler (see attached photo). view full answer...
As long as the transmission fluid temperatures are staying under 220 degrees you are pretty safe but keeping the fluid as cool as possible only helps so going with a larger or more efficient cooler like the Derale # D13614 in place of or in addition to what you have would be a really great idea. There really isn't such a thing as a cooler that is too big as long as you can make it fit. view full answer...
Any vehicle to which you want to add a secondary transmission cooler such as the Derale plate-fin type # D13503 needs to have accessible lines you can tap into. If the transmission does not provide this access you can sometimes access the return line from the OEM cooler (which is inside the radiator) at a fitting on the radiator itself.
The supplementary cooler needs to install after (downstream of) the OEM cooler that is in the radiator. The OEM cooler reduces the transmission fluid... view full answer...
In regards to your 2013 Chevrolet Silverado, if you will be removing the auxiliary transmission cooler then I recommend using the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13614 to replace it. This cooler measures 11" wide x 11-3/8" tall x 1-1/4" deep which you should have plenty of space for. In general we recommend that you install the supplemental transmission cooler in-line the factory transmission cooler (in radiator) and the auxiliary transmission cooler (behind... view full answer...
Both the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler # D13613 and # D13612 will work for your application but I recommend going with the slightly larger # D13613. The 8-7/8 inch height on this unit (compared to 6-3/8 inches on the # D13612) will provide more space for the fluid to travel and thus allow for more efficient cooling on your GMC Safari.
The included radiator adapter will fit most vehicles with 5/16 inch transmission lines but it's possible that you may need to cut or... view full answer...
There is a lot of pressure within the transmission lines of a vehicle, including your 2006 GMC Sierra so the tighter the fit the better. If an 11/32 inch hose is needed then I would go with it over a 3/8.
Cooler # D13503 isn't really large enough or efficient enough to allow you to bypass the factory cooler. That is why I recommend installing the cooler as a supplemental unit. If the fitting on your radiator has a 5/8" hex head then you can use special fitting # D13018 and not have to... view full answer...
Transmission coolers are not vehicle specific, they are universal and we put together some options on our website that are recommended for your 2002 Ford Expedition with 5.4 L engine with other parts that are needed for installation. This does not mean that other transmission coolers can not work, it just gives a guideline for somebody that is shopping for a transmission cooler.
Transmission coolers are flow through devices so you can pretty much use any transmission cooler you want as... view full answer...
It sounds to me like you will definitely want to upgrade your transmission cooler. Since you will not have a cooler that is being cooled by the fluid running through the radiator, I agree that you will need to upgrade or add a cooler to your system.
Heat Sink Coolers like the Dual-Pass Heat Sink Transmission Cooler, item # D13266, that you referenced are not nearly as efficient as a plate and fin cooler or a cooler with an electric fan added.

I would be happy to recommend a transmission cooler for your 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ 2WD.
If your Tahoe has the 4.8L V8 I recommend the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/ NPT Inlets - Class V - Extra Efficient # D13614, or if you have the 5.3L V8 I recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets - Class IV - Efficient # D13504 instead.
For either of these options you will need the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting for GM # D13035,... view full answer...
Transmission coolers like the Class V Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler # D13614 are not vehicle specific; other pan type coolers such as # D14208 that bolt on in place of your transmission pan ARE specific to your 2000 Ford Expedition with 5.4L V8 engine. You can install Derale cooler # D13614 as long as you have space for it to mount in one of the preferred locations (see the linked article) such as in front of your AC condenser. You will also need hose fitting kit # D13025. view full answer...
Transmission coolers are not vehicle specific so there are no specific instructions for vehicles. Our best cooler would be the one that is most efficient. Stacked plate coolers are the most efficient and a good option with an install kit is the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, # D13614. I have included a link to a video review of the cooler for you.

I did some research on your 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek and it looks like you have a CVT transmission.
If your CVT transmission has lines that run from the transmission to the radiator (some do, some do not), you can install a transmission cooler. A transmission cooler is inexpensive insurance that would do a great job of extending the life of your transmission.
The best way to pick out a transmission cooler is to measure the distance in front of the radiator and go with the largest one... view full answer...
For your 2001 Ford Expedition with 5.4 L engine, I would recommend the largest cooler that will fit in front of the AC condenser at the front of the vehicle.
