Can Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Replace OEM Cooler on 2010 Ford Escape
Question:
I have a 2010 Ford Escape and would like to bypass the factory cooler which is prone to leak. So instead of replacing the factory condensor/trans cooler combo I need a cooler big enough to cool my tranny.The options you offer for my vehicle have 3/8 barbed fittings, which will not work as mine has 1/2 inch hoses. I do not think that reducing from 1/2 down to 3/8 is wise. That said my best option in my opinion would be the Derale 13614. Your thoughts please.

If you are needing a larger cooler that has 1/2" fittings then you very well could install the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13614 on your 2010 Ford Escape. Just be sure that you have enough room for the cooler itself (see attached photo).
Just please note that even though aftermarket coolers can be very effective, we don't really recommend using them as a replacement for the OEM cooler as they are really meant to be a supplement to the OEM cooler.
