Recommended Derale Transmission Cooler for 1997 GMC Safari

Question:

As of 18 November 2018 I am shortlisting a set of Derale 9000 series coolers in anticipation of an engine-cooling design fix on my GMC M11006 - General Motors went to a pressurized coolant reservoir in 2009 due to issues encountered with gaskets and seals from 1996 to 2007 that involved ACDelco® DEX-COOL® as the environment and Ive no guarantee the caplessinch radiator I intend to backport along with a MOON or equivalent 32 PSI reservoir regulated at 16 PSI, as is the radiator to be replaced will contain engine-oil and transmission-fluid heat exchangers. The D13614 gets the nod along with the D13901 cooler-loop filter kit for the stock 4L60-E, but I also need to size an engine-oil cooler and anticipate a D13611 for cooling the power steering/Hydro-Boost fluid circuit. Would the D13612 or D13613 be the best fit for engine-oil cooling for this retrofit package?

Both the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler # D13613 and # D13612 will work for your application but I recommend going with the slightly larger # D13613. The 8-7/8 inch height on this unit (compared to 6-3/8 inches on the # D13612) will provide more space for the fluid to travel and thus allow for more efficient cooling on your GMC Safari.

The included radiator adapter will fit most vehicles with 5/16 inch transmission lines but it's possible that you may need to cut or flare the lines on your Safari for installation.
