Is 200 Degrees too Hot for Transmission Fluid of 2009 Chevy Tahoe

Question:

Hi, I have a 2009 Chevy Tahoe LTZ 4x4 with tow package and the 6.2. It has a transmission cooler installed but not sure of the specs stock?. While towing a +/- 5,000lb camp trailer up mountains in the summer, the tranny gets hot around 200 I think, it was last year but stays cool with flat driving. Would this unit part # D13614 or any other be a good replacement/upgrade to what I have now? Also, is there such a thing as having too much of a transmission cooler is bigger better? Thanks,

As long as the transmission fluid temperatures are staying under 220 degrees you are pretty safe but keeping the fluid as cool as possible only helps so going with a larger or more efficient cooler like the Derale # D13614 in place of or in addition to what you have would be a really great idea. There really isn't such a thing as a cooler that is too big as long as you can make it fit.
