This Dutton-Lainson worm-gear winch is designed for vertical lifting applications. Load holds when cranking is stopped. Loop drive lets you crank winch with power drill or shepard hook.Well built USA made. It will hold up to years of use. I will make a 3/8 rod with a hook on the end to operate the winch. I will use a battery drill motor to turn it. I am using this to open and close a 23 foot wide cloth awning,. I will be modifing it somewhat.
