Provider Radials

Provider radials are constructed with double polyester cords and double steel belts for increased durability and endurance. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation. Provider radials are bake tested - a process usually reserved for automotive tires - to ensure that the rubber holds up over time.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

I purchased these tires for my tandem axle boat trailer. It's difficult to find this size of tire in a load range D so I was happy to find them on etrailer. I have 500 miles on the new tires and they have performed well with no issues.

The folks at etrailer have been great to work with. I ordered 5 tires and only 4 of them showed up initially due to an issue with shipping. etrailer rectified the issue and sent me the fifth tire, which just arrived. I would definitely purchase from etrailer again in the future. Thanks.

I have replaced the original tires on the last two trailers we have had because the Provider Trailer tires have been very dependable in all weather and roads. The biggest test we gave them is our trip to Alaska. From GA. to the Arctic Circle and back via the I-10 southern route. Five months and over 15,000 miles without ANY tire problems. I am putting a link to part of the trip through the Yukon on the Alaska Highway. Everyone said we would have tire and windshield issues but not one. I might add the (Load Range D is the best to use)The trailer is a 32' Jayco Whitehawk, maxed at 8,000lbs

by:

I was looking for a tire to replace one that had a large cotter pin stuck in it. I wanted to match the other 3 tires on the flatbed trailer I use to transport my compact tractor as closely as possible because the other tires were relatively new and still in good shape. etrailer.com had an exact match, so I bought 2 tires. I was glad etrailer.com had the same tire I needed to replace. The tires I ordered were delivered in just a few days.

by:

It’s been a year since we put these tires and new rims on my horse trailer. Zero complaints! They are wearing well and have eased my worry of having tire trouble while hauling my best horse buddy!

by:

Bought 3 of these tires for my 8 foot utility trailer that I use to haul my motorcycles and anything else. I have the older triangle style rims that use the old 205/70 style of tires. The newer 205/75 fit just great on my 15" x 6" rims. Can't wait to go on my next long trip with the trailer and the new tires.

by:

Could not find a production date on tire. Tread depth was a little less than what I expected. Just installed so no experience yet with driving on tires.

  • Can You Replace ST215/75R17.5 Trailer Tires on Front Axle Only on Tandem Axle Trailer
Yes you can; if you want to change the 215/75R17.5 tires on just the front axle of your tandem axle trailer you can without issue. The absolute ideal would be to change all four at the same time for perfect, even wear across the tires, but it isn't necessary so long as the tires on the rear axle are in good shape. In fact, if you are going to change tires on one of the axles, you would want it on the front axle, as that is the one that bears the most most. And we do have a really good...

  • Recommended Heavy Duty 17.5 Trailer Wheels And Tires For 16000lb Trailer
I have another option for you, but 17" wheels are not very common on trailers so there is not many tire or wheel options available. Instead I recommend a 17.5" wheel and tire as they offer quite a few heavy duty options. I recommend going with a wheel like the Aluminum Lynx Trailer Wheel - 17-1/2" x 6-3/4" Rim - 8 on 6-1/2 - Black # 274-000006 as it is centered by the lug nuts like your current wheels where the steel wheels in this size center on the hub and would require a different hub. Though...

If your tires had a load rating of G and were blowing out, you may be better served by using tires with a higher load rating. We carry two tires with a load rating of H, the Provider # TTWP15175 and Westlake # LHWL097; each of these are 215/75R17.5 radial tires that fit 17-1/2" wheels with a section width of 8.3" and outer diameter (when inflated) of 30.2". • Will Upgrading to 17.5" Trailer Wheels Increase Ride Height
No, switching from a 16" wheel to a 17.5" wheel will not increase ride height. This really comes down to size as there are different size tires for each of these wheel options. If we take the largest tire size we offer for each, 235/85-16 like Karrier part # AM10501 and 215/75-17.5 like Provider part # TTWP15175, the 235/85 measures 31.6" diameter and the 215/75 measures 30.2" so you'll actually be losing about .7" in height. If you have a 235/80-16 like the Westlake part # LHWL401 then...

Tires like the Provider 215/75R17.5 # TTWP15175 are designed to always be at the max cold psi. So in this case it would be 123 psi. Running them at a different psi would lead to an unknown capacity and could result in damage to the tires or a blowout. If you're on the road with your trailer a lot it is a good idea to add a TPMS system like the Tire Linc OneControl TPMS # LC37VR to keep an eye on it. It looks like you have the Aluminum Lynx Trailer Wheel # 274-000006 based on that picture....

  • Tire Wear Concern with 18K-Rated Triple-Axle Toy Hauler 5th Wheel
Triple-axle trailers can show the effects of "scrubbing" especially on the rear axle since when the trailer turns the front axle wheels are the pivot point and the center and especially rear axles will be "pulled along for the ride", so to speak. This effect is unavoidable with triple-axle trailers. If you are finding that the outside edges of all tires are showing more wear than the center of the treads, this indicates that the tires may be under-inflated. Trailer tires should ALWAYS...

  • How Important is Speed Rating on Trailer Tire
Westlake and Taskmaster trailer tires actually aren't made under the same manufacturer, however a tire's specific speed rating is determined by a number of factors including construction, ply rating, testing, etc. The primary cause for trailer tire failure is excessive heat, and exceeding a tire's maximum speed to can lead to this. Because of this it is extremely important to adhere to the speed limit on your particular Westlake tire. The manufacturer has deemed through testing that the...
