Provider Radials

Provider radials are constructed with double polyester cords and double steel belts for increased durability and endurance. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation. Provider radials are bake tested - a process usually reserved for automotive tires - to ensure that the rubber holds up over time.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

You did well, UPS not so much.

by:

Tires last a long time! They arrived less than 48 hours after ordering.

by:

The right tire came and shipping was exact and fast.

Hard to write a review on a tire ya just mounted, BUT I have had good luck with Provider brand tire in the past so I decided to try these. Load Range J tire with a weight of 70 pounds plus per tire make for a serious tire for hauling weight. I mounted 4 of these on a set of 4 Alcoa wheels and bolted them on to my Gooseneck dump, along with a new set of 8,000 # axles. I'm in heaven. I will continue to order products from these folks ! THEY KNOW HOW TO TREAT CUSTOMERS !!

by:

Heavy duty hauls the load.

by:

I put these on a 44’ 10 horse trailer and drove from NM to south TX in 105 degrees, and back. They seem to run cool and smooth. Love the load range J and speed rating M on these.

by:

I was in a jam and needed two tires ASAP, so I ordered a third for a spare. George was more than happy to go out his to get me fixed up. Within a few minutes I was contacted by them letting me know that they only had two in stock. They went out their way to break the order up and send me the two that I needed in a very timely manner.

Thanks etrailer.com for go above and beyond to help a customer. Looking forward to doing business with you guys again!!!

I purchased these tires for my tandem axle boat trailer. It's difficult to find this size of tire in a load range D so I was happy to find them on etrailer. I have 500 miles on the new tires and they have performed well with no issues.

The folks at etrailer have been great to work with. I ordered 5 tires and only 4 of them showed up initially due to an issue with shipping. etrailer rectified the issue and sent me the fifth tire, which just arrived. I would definitely purchase from etrailer again in the future. Thanks.

I have replaced the original tires on the last two trailers we have had because the Provider Trailer tires have been very dependable in all weather and roads. The biggest test we gave them is our trip to Alaska. From GA. to the Arctic Circle and back via the I-10 southern route. Five months and over 15,000 miles without ANY tire problems. I am putting a link to part of the trip through the Yukon on the Alaska Highway. Everyone said we would have tire and windshield issues but not one. I might add the (Load Range D is the best to use)The trailer is a 32' Jayco Whitehawk, maxed at 8,000lbs

Replacement tires for 1998 United Expressline 7x14 box trailer.

by:

It’s been a year since we put these tires and new rims on my horse trailer. Zero complaints! They are wearing well and have eased my worry of having tire trouble while hauling my best horse buddy!

by:

Bought 3 of these tires for my 8 foot utility trailer that I use to haul my motorcycles and anything else. I have the older triangle style rims that use the old 205/70 style of tires. The newer 205/75 fit just great on my 15" x 6" rims. Can't wait to go on my next long trip with the trailer and the new tires.

by:

Could not find a production date on tire. Tread depth was a little less than what I expected. Just installed so no experience yet with driving on tires.

by:

I'm happy with the service and speed of delivery on my tires. I did my homework and these tires checked all of the boxes. My only disappointment, and the reason for the 3 star review, these tires have a production date code from early in 2021. This makes them 3 years old before I've even had a chance to put any miles on them. Everyone knows that trailer tires age out before they wear out. I will now only have 4 years of service out of these tires instead of 7. This is very disappointing as these are far from the cheapest tires on the market.

by:

Needed a spare tire and rim for our camper. Local trailer dealer recommended Etrailer. Ordered on Friday and delivered on Tuesday with the weekend being Easter. Haven’t mounted them yet but looks perfect.

by:

My second set of these tires. Over the years I've had many tire failures with the other brands including Goodyear, all rated 10 ply.
Was in the tire business for over 20 years so yes I know about proper inflation, rotation, loading. Boils down to most trailer tires are built like passenger car tires. The Provider tires are much heavier and built like truck tires. I cut open one of my Worn Providers to see how much under tread was there since the sidewalls are marked regroovable like truck tires.

As you can see in the picture there is a large amount of rubber under the edges where much of the wear occurs.

By the way, no tire failures in over 80,000 miles on my 35 foot 5th wheel. And that's 70+ MPH of desert driving here in AZ. Drive slower and the big rigs will be all over you...

  • Recommended Tire Size for Taskmaster 17.5 Solid Center Wheel
In regard to the Taskmaster Solid Center Wheel part # TA45ZR, we have a few different tire sizes that will work. For a 215/75-17.5 which is 30.2" diameter x 8.3" wide I recommend the Provider 215/75R17.5 Radial Trailer Tire part # TTWP15175 and for a 235/75-17.5 which is 31.3" diameter x 9.1" wide I recommend the Provider 235/75R17.5 Radial Trailer Tire part # P35175.

  • What is Tire Pressure/Weight Rating of Provider Radial Trailer Tire 235/75R17.5 P35175
Some trailer tire manufacturers like Goodyear will have load ratings based on various pressure ratings but Provider does not have that. They are still using one load rating based on the max psi rating which in this case is 6,005 lbs at 127 psi if used as a single tire or 5,675 lb at 127 psi if used in a dually setup. We have to recommend you keep the max psi in the tires at all times to ensure you get the full capacity as well as prevent heat build up and cause premature failure.

  • Can Trailer Tire for 17-1/2 Inch Wheel be Replaced With Smaller Tire
I am not familiar with that size trailer tire, and the closest we carry are for 17-1/2 inch wheels and you can replace a larger tire with a smaller one, so long as you have the appropriate capacity. For example, the Provider 235/75R17.5 Radial Trailer Tire # P35175 measures 31.4" in diameter and has a width of 9.2 inches when fully inflated and could be replaced by the Provider 215/75R17.5 Radial Trailer Tire # TTWP15175 which measures 30.2" in diameter and a width of 8.3" so there would...

  • Best Trailer Tire To Replace 245/75-17.5 Tire On Car Hauler
I recommend Provider 235/75R17.5 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range J part # P35175 to replace the 245/75/17.5 tires on that axle. You do want to replace both tires on the same axle with these because the tread is about 10mm thinner then the 245/75/17.5 tires that you have. The Provider 235/75R17.5 has a weight capacity of 6,005 lbs at 127 psi and 5,675 lbs at 127 psi when used in a dual application. You want to make sure you are running these tires and the others at max PSI to ensure they...

  • Recommended Tire Compatible with 17.5 Inch Trailer Wheels
The closest tire we have to your 235/85-17.5 is the Taskmaster Provider 235/75R17.5 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range J # P35175. The 235/85-17.5 size tires you have are 33.2 inches in diameter and have a width of 9.3 inches. The 235/75R17.5 tires we have are 31.38 inches outer diameter and 9.17 inches wide, so they are a little smaller. This is the only option we carry that will fit your current wheels/rims, but cannot be used as a spare due to the size difference. I recommend replacing...

You can try installing either of them on your trailer but they do not have the 8.07 inch wide and 28 inch diameter tires that you have now. • How to Determine if You Can Switch From 16" Wheel and Tires to 17.5" on a 5th Wheel Trailer
There are a couple things that you will want to verify first, but more than likely you will be able to switch from your current 16" wheels to 17.5" wheels like the Aluminum Lynx Trailer Wheel # 274-000006 you were looking at.
