Comparing Taskmaster Provider and Sailun 215/75R17.5 Trailer Tires

Question:

The Sailun 215/75R17.5 seem like their direct competitor. I can find more reviews about the Sailun online and people seem to like them but would rather order from you guys. I just cant find much info on Provider tires. Where are they made? How do they compare to the Sailun 215/75R17.5? Thank you!

The Taskmaster Provider 215/75R17.5 Radial Trailer Tire # TTWP15175 is made overseas but has been tested to meet DOT specs and exceeds FMVSS. From what I could tell the Sailun 215/75R17.5 is sold more to the Canadian market than the US so if you are from Canada that would explain why you are seeing more stuff online about Sailun tires.

From what information I could find these tires are very comparable in their features and various ratings with the biggest difference being the tread design. The Taskmaster Provider not only has siping all along the trailer tire but it also has deeper grooves to give it superior traction (see attached photo) while the Sailun seems to have less siping and doesn't feature the same style of grooves. Another positive to the Provider is that the tread is regroovable for additional mileage (federal and state laws may apply).

Other than that the Taskmaster has a higher speed rating of 81 mph and comes with a 2-year limited warranty while the Sailun has a 75 mph speed rating and from what I could find comes with a 5-year limited warranty but you'd want to verify this.

In addition to the photo showing the treads of the Provider I have attached a review video you can check out as well as a hyperlink to the product page where you can see the specs for the tire and over 600 customer reviews that give this tire a near-perfect 5 star rating.
