Thoroughly Tested for Safety

This hub-and-drum assembly meets the requirements for certification by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). The CSA creates standards, which when complied with ensure a safe and quality product. This assembly underwent extensive testing to measure stopping distances when braking. This assembly has also been tested by QAI for braking performance in a complete automotive setup and under real-world conditions to provide the most realistic scenario for the everyday driver.

E-Z Lube and Easy Grease-Compatible Assembly for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub-and-drum assembly is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube or etrailer Easy Grease axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

all in all, I'm satisfied with the product. the bakes do not stop as well as I'd hoped, but it is sufficient. The only hiccup was my own fault for not realizing the installed studs would have been smaller than the ones on my trailer. I changed all studs and kept rolling.

  • What Spindle Fits the Trailer Hub # AKHD-865-8-EZ-K

  • Hub and Drum for 8,000 Pound Trailer Axle that Uses 5/8 Inch Studs
We have one hub and drum assembly that uses the same bearings as the hub you referenced but that also has 5/8 inch studs. It is # 8-285-10UC3-A. This hub is rated for 8,000 pound axles but it is an oil bath hub and doesn't use grease like regular hubs. Despite it being an oil bath hub you can still use it. The lug nuts are included.

  • Wheel and Tire Recommendation for Bolt Pattern 8 on 6-1/2 inch
The smallest wheel size we offer with a 8 on 6-1/2 inch bolt pattern is 16 inch. If that's the bolt pattern your trailer has you are going to need a wheel and tire for it. So the part # LHACK133 would be a great option. This is a 16 inch wheel with a 235/80R16 tire installed on it. What's also great about the tire that comes with this combo is that it has a speed rating of 75 MPH.

  • Can 12-1/4 Inch x 3-3/8 Inch Electric Brakes Be Added To a Lippert 7,000 Lb Trailer Axle
In order to install a set of 12-1/4" x 3-3/8" electric drum brakes on a Lippert 7,000 lb trailer axle you would need to remove the old 5 bolt brake mounting flange via cutting and then weld a new 7 bolt brake mounting flange on with absolute precision. If this is something that you feel you are capable of then you can use the Electric Trailer Brake Kit part # AKEBRK-8 but you would also need new hubs and drums like the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly part # AKHD-865-8-EZ-K in addition to...

  • Replacement Hub And Drum Assembly For An 8 Lug Hub With 9/16" Studs
I am happy to help point you in the right direction. With the information you provided we can certainly narrow it down. I will say that I could not find any references for the part number 030120 that you provided. So we will need to look at a few things in order to determine fitment. All of the 8 lug hub/drums with 9/16" studs that we carry are rated for either 7,000 or 8,000 lb axles. So confirming the axle capacity would help to narrow down which hub you will need. Generally we also...

  • Hub And Drum Replacement for 90865 Rockwell Hub and Drum
Based on my research, the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 8,000-lb E-Z Lube Axles # AKHD-865-8-EZ-K will be a replacement for the 90865 Rockwell hub and drum. Both of these hub and drum assemblies are 12-1/4" diameter, have an 8,000 lb capacity, 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern and most importantly share the same bearing numbers, which are inner bearing # 25580 and outer bearing # 02475. I have added a link to a video review of this hub and drum for you to check out as well.

  • How to Know When to Replace Trailer Brake Hub Drums
As long as your existing hub drums are in good condition (no grooves worn in the armature surface that the brake magnet rides on or the surface that the pads grab). For a lot of trailer hub/drums there is a minimum thickness for that to be turned listed on them though.
