Sonically Sealed, Waterproof Trailer Light

The waterproof construction of this light makes it ideal for use on trailers that may be submerged, like a boat trailer. The housing and lens are sonically sealed together to create a single unit, which means that water will not get into the light and damage the diodes or circuit board.

Two of these lights were mounted on a rear hitch bike rack since the truck tail lights can't be seen with the bikes on the rack. I am extremely happy with the quality and brightness of the lights. Shipping was great and items were packed with care.

by:

I wanted additional brake light visibility higher up on rear of my camper. The STD lights were low and partly obscured if I was hauling bikes on their rack. There was no good way to run wiring inside and I didn't want holes as possible leak points. So I mounted these thin, bright LED lights high along outer edges, connected wiring to existing brake lights, encasing wiring in heat shrink tubing and siliconed all in place. Looks good, works great!

by:

I think it will work with my trailer to replace old tail light that were exposed to rocks, ect, and broke off. I have not had time to mount and wire in yet, but hope that will happen soon. Time will tell if it works out.

The day pic's were from 6:30 p.m. 06/07/19. Notice you can't see the stock taillights from 10 ft. away. Hence my purchase of these LED lights for the angle iron uprights. The night pic's are 2 ft. from my garage door at 9:30 p.m., 06 07/19, and this is what drivers behind me will see. These LED's are slim, well made, water proof, and attach like a breeze. I LOVE THESE LIGHTS!!!!!! As I told Carol, the pigtail wires should be 11/2 to 2ft. instead of 8". My only downside to these lights. I Have 3 trailers and from now on etrailer.com is my go to site!! Thanks a million, great product.

Fantastic! Same as above.

by:

I was looking for lights to add to a receiver hitch cargo carrier for nighttime visibility. These were perfect for size and function. The housings were sturdy, the wiring was sealed and they worked on the first try, as tail lights, turn signal and brake lights. Would definitely recommend these!

Still working perfectly 1 year later!!

I ordered 2 of these lights to install on my bike rack. They work great, nice and bright and easy to wire.

After arriving pit bull ate package. etrailer replacement was at no cost. Very happy with customer service, very helpful. Great product, reasonable price. Used as rear fog lights on my SUV and car. Thanks etrailer great job.

by:

Easy to install. temporally connected to wires to verify operation. White wire is ground. Used a step drill to make a hole for the wires.

by:

Beautiful tail light. Very bright for the brake and turn signal. Fitted it on the back of my trailer with an L bracket.

by:

Lights were easy to install on rear steel plate of trailer. 3 holes drilled per light (2 for mounting, 1 for wire access). Lights are bright and very visible in daylight conditions. Lights are protected by design of rear steel plates. Very satisfied.

by:

The lights are exactly what I needed to make a light bar for my hitch mounted bike rack. When our bikes were on the rack it reduced the visibility of the cars's stop lights, brake lights and turn signals. The bar rotates so the lights are visible in the rack's up or down position.

by:

The light itself is an LED light. But it has stop tail turn functions. Which if using it as a third brake light you have to ground it multiple times so that the LEDs do not illuminate when you do not want them to. I used this as a third brake light in my 51 Chevy

by:

These tail lights work great on my custom built wheelchair trailer. They are bright, easy to mount and function as needed. They've been on the trailer for a year with regular use and no problems to date.

by:

Great light, very bright. Only thing is wires aren't labeled to the function they control. Only complaint is length, I wish the light was 3-4 inches shorter.

The wiring functions for each wire on this light are: White wire for ground, Black wire for tail light, and Red wire for turn signal.

Excellent, not one issue

by:

Good quality and very bright.

by:

Okay, Again smaller than anticipated

by:

I purchased this light to replace a 3rd brake light on my pick-up topper.the product information and dimensions were vital to my installation and ETRAILER were spot on.The light is bright and looks great, excellent company

by:

After adding larger tire carrier on the JK, this was a perfect solution for relocating the brake light. Added a quick disconnect on the inside when the roof is off. Quick and easy install.

by:

these lights are absolutely blinding. They work great! The pictures are running lights only, NOT Brake Lights!

by:

Love these high quality LED lights! Easy to install and one year later they are still working well.

by:

Installs easy. Wire gauge is sufficient, and wires are sealed nicely where they join the assembly. These were installed for a saltwater application. After two months and several dunks in the ocean, no evidence of water intrusion.

Frank

After more than a year of regular saltwater use, all LEDs are still working properly with no evidence of water intrusion or corrosion.

by:

I have a home made utility trailer with round tail lights that are big enough that if the front of the trailer is lifted to high the back hits the ground and the tail lights break. these are thin enough that they will not contact the ground and therefore not break. They look good and arrived as advertised. The screw hole on the ends are all plastic. It would have been nice if a metal collar or end was there to keep the plastic from cracking if the screws are over thightened. I just got them and haven't had a chance to see if they work ok or not.

They are working great Im impressed with how visible they are. Highly recommend them.

by:

The lights were awesome. We added them to the back of a 16' flatbed trailer just under the back lip. The lights were in addition to the regular taillights. The idea was if someone was to close to see the side lights , they could see these from the back. They were also easy to install, we just tapped into the regular taillights. We are thinking about adding these to our dump trailer as well.

Still great 1 year later. Awesome buy.

by:

Excellent part. Quality packaging. Than ks.

by:

Haven't hooked it up yet but tried it out on a 12 volt battery and it looks good, works fine. Wire colors are a little confusing but maybe that's the proper convention. White goes to ground, red to bright stoplight positive, black to running light positive. No instructions came but easy to figure out. Shipping time was excessive but maybe covid accounts for that.

  • Troubleshooting Running Light Circuit of Optronics LED Trailer Lights STL59RB Not Functioning
The black wire of the Thinline LED Trailer Tail Light # STL59RB that you referenced needs to have the running light circuit ran to it. This will operate the lower illumination of the light. I'd make sure that the brown wire on each side of your trailer is connected to the black wire of the lights and the stop/turn signal is attached to the red wire as I believe that's your issue.

I've added a link to a video review of this light for you to take a look at.

  • Can Thinline LED Trailer Tail Light # STL59R Be Used as Stop/Turn Light on Trailer
You definitely could use the Thinline LED Trailer Tail Light # STL59RB as a standard trailer stop/turn/running light on the sides of your trailer as all of those functions are supported on this light. If you check out the picture I attached you can see a customer of ours who had a similar idea and used them on both sides of the trailer.

  • What do You Recommend for Adding a Third Brake Light to my In Bed Truck Camper
I may have a solution but there is not a good option for that Series 99 light because they are all used as marker lights and not signal lights. If you were to use the Thinline LED Trailer Tail Light part # STL59RB and just wire the ground and brake signal it will act exactly like your current third brake light. It is narrow enough that it will fit above your marker or clearance light giving you your desired result. You will use the white wire for ground and the red wire for your brake...

  • Center Light on Trailer Causes All Trailer Lights to Blink When Both Turn Signals are Wired to it
It sounds like everything is working correctly except that your top LED light is only flashing with the left turn signal and not the right turn signal. If your center light is wired like the Thinline LED Trailer Tail Light # STL59RB with the White wire for Ground, the Black wire for the Tail/Running Lights, and the Red wire for a Turn Signal, it will only flash with whichever turn signal you have it wired to. • Replacement 12" x 2" Rear LED Light Strip On Motorhome
The Thinline LED Trailer Tail Light part # STL59RB is the best fit match we have for the 12" x 2" rear light strips on the RV. This strip measures 12-5/8" long x 1" wide. The screw holes will not line up but you can easily drill new ones and fill in the old with silicone. This light works as stop, turn, and clearance. • Troubleshooting Left and Right Turn Trailer Light Circuit that Activates Together
Most likely you have the stop/turn and running lights backwards on your trailer light that looks like the part # STL59RB. You can easily test that by seeing if the running light circuit makes the light assembly brighter than the brake circuit. Otherwise you would have a short between the left and right stop/turn circuits which is why they both are activating at same time. You'd need to go over the circuits looking for any shorts between the two wires like cut/exposed wire and fix as needed.

  • How to Install 3-Wire LED Type Light to 4-Pole Wiring
A flat 4-pole trailer harness carries three lighting circuits, brake lights, running lights and turn signals. The green wire carries right side turn and brake signals; the yellow wire carries left side turn and brake lights; and the brown wire on the 4-pole carries running lights for both sides of the trailer. Most likely, the red wire on your new tail light is for the turn signal, the black wire is for the tail light and the white wire is for ground. Lighting requirements for trailers over 80-inches wide do vary a bit depending on the trailer's gross weight.
