Michael: Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at this mini LED trailer license plate light.This is going to be a great way to illuminate your trailer's license plate. It would be a great replacement for an incandescent light, if one has gone out or whatever the case may be, if you're adding a light onto your trailer for the license plate, this is a great option. This is compatible with 12 volt and 24 volt DC systems. It does have a surface mounted diode or SMD construction. So the LED circuit board on board is going to be very resistant to shock and vibration.

It's also going to help with improved heat distribution. If you're not familiar with LEDs, they are going to be a far superior replacement than incandescent lights. One, because they're more efficient. So they'll provide more light with less power.This unit here is going to only draw about 0.139 AMPS on your 12 volt system and a 0.027 AMPS on your 24 volt system and it's still going to provide a nice bright light, which I'll show you here in a moment. The LEDs don't have any brittle film in them.

So you're not going to have to replace the bulbs. They last about 50 times longer than your incandescent lights. This one comes with a lifetime warranty on the LEDs. So again, they just don't go out like your incandescent bulbs. So these are going to be a great replacement for you, if you're replacing.This does have two of those LEDs or light emitting diodes covered with a clear lens.

So you're going to get a nice white light coming from those LEDs. It also has a durable black BBS housing to help protect the light against road debris and corrosion and different things that you encounter as you're going down the road.This is a surface mount option so they've included a little gasket here for you so that you can mount this in place. They also have included two screws to get it mounted. So should be very easy, you just need enough room for the wires to go back and connect to your wiring.This is a two wire design. One wire will be your power lead.

The other will be your ground. It doesn't matter which one is which, just as long as one is one and the other is the other. This is a Department of Transportation approved light, depending on how you have it mounted. So if you're only going to use one light, you want to make sure that it is mounted right at the trailers center, or if you're using two lights mounted on each side. Our overall dimensions here, when we're looking at the light, overall length is going to be right at about two and three quarters of an inch. Overall height . I can try and get this wherever it's going to show best for you. You want to call it about one and three eights of an inch, and then our depths looking at right about one inch, the amount that it's going to stick out.Now, our mounting holes are pre-drilled here. You can see those are separated from center to center, right about two inches. So keep that in mind when deciding if this is going to work for your application or not. And I do want to show you how this light functions, so I'm going to hook up some power to one and then ground to the other.You can see that light is on. Turn off the lights in the studio here. You can see that is a nice bright light. So it's going to light up your license plate on your trailer really well, and it's not going to draw much power at all. So like I said, it is going to be a great option for those of you who are wanting to replace an incandescent light, or if you're just adding a light onto your trailer so that your license plate is illuminated at night to make sure that you're road legal and this is going to be a great option for you.So that's going to complete our look for today.
