Kodiak's hub-and-rotor assembly makes it easy to change from drum brakes to disc brakes. Made of machined cast iron with Dacromet plating, this 1-piece unit is balanced for a smooth ride and furnished with standard races.

Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Kodiak 13 inch Hub and Rotor with the Dacromet Finish. Has an eight on six and a half inch bolt pattern. Comes with the nine 16 inch diameter studs. And it's designed to fit 7,000 pound to 8,000 pound axles.
Now, this is a single piece assembly, makes installation of snap, whether you're retrofitting, or switching from drum brakes. It is designed to fit hubs that use nine 16 inch diameter wheel studs. Now, this part does include the pre-installed bearing races. So if you look at the back here, you've got the inner bearing race pre-installed. Outer bearing race pre-installed right there.
Now, the bearings, the seal and the cap for this are all sold separately. And if you need the part numbers, if you go to this product page at the bottom of the page, we'll list the part numbers for all those parts. A machine process on this minimizes any run out and warping. The contaminants can't get in between the rotor and the hub when you use separate hubs and rotors. This one's all combined.
This is a balanced unit, provides a nice, smooth ride. The vented design you can see on the side here will effectively dissipate heat, prevents any heat-related damage. And this is a cast iron construction, so it ensures favorable friction, coefficient for necessary stopping power. Now, this one is a Dacromet platting on it, provides superior corrosion resistance for fresh water or salt water use. Does have a 300 to 400 hour salt spray rating on it.
As we mentioned, this will fit axle capacities from 7,000 pounds up to 8,000 pounds. The wheel size used on this is 16 inches and larger. We mentioned the bolt pattern, eight on six and a half inches, nine 16ths inch diameter stubs. And again, the diameter on this rotor, 13 inches. But that should do it for the review on this Kodiak 13 inch Hub and Rotor with the Dacromet Finish, eight on six and a half inch bolt pattern with nine 16 inch studs for 7,000 pound to 8,000 pound axles.

Can’t say I’m happy about all the price increases across the board and definitely not happy with the suppliers creating such a shortage of parts we need for day to day operations.

- Converting Triax 5th Wheel Trailer with 7k Dexter Axles to Disc BrakesWe have the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit part # K2HR712D which is the correct hub/rotor set for the 7k axles on your trailer. You'd need 3 of these for your trailer and then an electric over hydraulic actuator like the # HBA16 you mentioned. I would actually recommend the # HBA16-252-82 though as it comes with the breakaway kit plus enough lines for two of your axles. For the third axle you'd then want the part # 9579-01.

If your trailer has 7k axles installed on it these part numbers would be what you'd need.

This is the equivalent of inner bearing # 25580, outer bearing # LM67048, and grease seal # GS-2125DL which can all be found in the bearing kit # BK3-310 along with the races for the bearings. Unfortunately the bearing kit # DBRKHW85G that you purchased isn't the same as the grease seal has a slightly larger diameter but that can easily be fixed....
