Video Transcript for Review of Kodiak Trailer Hubs and Drums - Hub with Integrated Rotor - KRH1378D

Today we're going to take a look at the Kodiak 13" diameter Dacromet hub and rotor for a 7,000 pound axle. It has an 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern with half-inch diameter studs. Now this is a nice single piece hub and rotor assembly. Makes installation a snap, whether you're retrofitting or switching from drum brakes. The one-piece machine process will minimize runout and warping. So it's a balanced unit, provides a nice smooth ride.

Also since it's one whole assembly, the contaminants can't get in between the rotor and hub like on a slip-on rotor assembly. It does use the vented design. You can see the vents right here. This will effectively dissipate the heat, prevents any heat-related damage. Does use half-inch diameter wheel studs and industry-standard bearing races already pre-installed for the outer and inner bearings.

Now this is a cast iron construction, ensures a favorable friction coefficient for necessary stopping power. And it does use a Dacromet finish on it to provide corrosion resistance for freshwater and limited saltwater use. This plating does meet the 300 to 400 hour salt spray rating.Again on the fits on this, it'll fit an axle capacity of 7,000 pounds. It's 3,500 pounds capacity per hub and rotor. So when this is used with one on the other side, it'll meet your 7,000 pound axle capacity.

It does use the wheel size of 16 inches and larger. We mentioned the bolt pattern on this is 8 on 6-1/2". Wheel lug size it uses is a half inch. Rotor diameter again is 13 inches. And the bearings and seals are not included.

Those we do sell separately. They're usually listed on this product page as a related product. It does use the inner bearing of Part Number 25580. Outer bearing, Part Number of 14125A. And the Seal Number of RG06-070.But that should do it for the review on the Kodiak 13" diameter Dacromet hub and rotor for 7,000 pound axles with the 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern and the half-inch diameter studs.

  • Is There a Kodiak 13 Hub and Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - 1/2 Bolts - 7,000 lbs Thats Threaded
The Kodiak 13" Hub and Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 - 1/2" Bolts - 7,000 lbs part # KRH1378D that we offer are not threaded for an oil cap. That said, you can still use them with an oil cap that's pressed on, the Kodiak XL ProLube Kit for for 5,200-lb to 6,000-lb Axles part # XLPROLUBE2440KIT which also has the seals you need. The only hub/drum we have for this size axle that is threaded would be the Dexter 12-1/4" Hub-and-Rotor Assembly part # 008-416-91.

  • Will the Kodiak 13" Hub and Rotor - 8 on 6-1/2 Work with Oil
The Kodiak 13" Hub and Rotor part # KRH1378D can be used with either grease or oil, it all comes down to what seal and cap you pair it with since they are not incuded. • Replacement Rotor for a 2020 Keystone Montana 3121RL
If all you damaged was the rotor then you can just replace it with the Kodiak 13" Rotor item # KR1389D. I didn't get anywhere either with that serial number. However, it looks like your 2020 Keystone Montana 3121RL uses a inner bearing item # 25580 and an outer bearing item # 14125A. The Kodiak 13" Hub and Rotor item # KRH1378D you were looking at is exactly what you need to replace your gouged one if you want to swap out both the hub and rotor. For replacement brake pads you'll want...
