Its still as great as it was when we bought it. We would recommend this item to everyone.

by:

It is a great product, but installation instructions can be confusing as far as the correct application. I found that even though mine is a Grand Cherokee Limited 4 Wheel Drive I had to follow directions for Rocky Mountain Edition. Also there is no video to follow my installation. Other than that I have had no issues. Would give 5 stars, but they need to put that 4x4 models follow Rocky Mountain or add the other models like Limited, Overland, etc.

This review is for the Curt hitch for our 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Great quality product and super easy installation. Install took less than 25 mins total. The hardest part was getting the plastic fasteners off to be able to move the rear bumper facia!

We will be using this hitch primarily for small items such as a bike rack and small cargo carrier. Works fantastic.

had an appointment scheduled with uhaul but ended up canceling once we found etrailer online. The videos made it look so easy installing ourselves, so we did. The parts we needed we easy to find and the videos were so helpful!;) we bought a hitch and wiring kit and got installed in less than an hour.

2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee

This Curt hitch from etrailer.com for my Curt carrier light hauling purpose is absolutely perfect. Easy to install on my 2008 Jeep Cherokee. No Bumper cutting. Looks great! Just what I was looking for!

by:

Bought for use to pull around lightweight kayak trailer, wanted the extra load capacity just in case, not much more than the class 2 either. Install was a breeze, video gave great guidance, but simplicity of install made it almost not necessary. Looks good even for it not being factory design. Wiring harness was stupid easy to install. Overall great buy.

The delivery was fast, took it less than a week to come in. This product was so easy to install. It took me an hour to put the hitch and wiring harness in my 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I haven't got to pull anything with it yet but as of right now I think it's a good product.

by:

Perfect fit, super-easy installation.

Sturdy feel, solid fit, super easy installation, instructions given were precise and easy to read. I had no problem installing product. Very proud. I also bought wiring and was super easy to plug-in. Also, within 30 minutes of ordering I received email product was shipped. Came in great timing for free shipping. If I have any more needs this company is definitely a go to.

2008 Jeep Grand-Cherokee

eTrailer expedited the shipping at their cost and I received the hitch and accessories within two days of my order ! THANKS ! I installed it the next day.
The installation went smoothly thanks to the videos posted on their website ! Of course it helped that everything on the Jeep was easy to remove and reassemble.

2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The powder coat got into the threads. Had to use a tap to remove powder coat. After that it was very easy to install. Dropping the spare tire is key to easy installation.

by:

I think everything that I have purchased from Etrailer have been absolutely good to go. Diy easy installation and long lasting, and use mine trailer hitches on a regular. I wouldnt think of buying from anyone eles. Thanks.

by:

Great price, super solid and easy to install. Took me about 30 minutes. Comes with all necessary hardware and it's easy to look up the instructional video for assistance. Quick shipping as well. I recommend and would order from here again

Project was quick and easy. Very happy overall, from how easy it was to order as well as the quick delivery and ease of installation.

by:

Perfect fit, very easy to follow instructions! Number 1 site!

by:

Friendly knowledgeable staff over the phone when I ordered. Jennifer walked me through every piece and ensured I was ordering everything I'd need. The hardware even included spare fasteners for the bumper in anticipation of the original ones breaking upon removal. Intuition is underrated but they nailed it.
Great quality everything from what I can tell so far. etrailer just hooked a lifetime customer.
Thanks

The hitch is working perfectly and I’m still very happy with it. We are actually in the process of buying a new car and I’ll be ordering a new hitch very soon to install on it. Thank you for a fantastic product.

Perfect fit with the predrilled holes. This thing is heavy duty.

I ended up selling my vehicle but I would definitely buy this again from etrailer! The videos and explanations were spot on and the hitch is solid and tough. The wiring was so easy and I know nothing about electrical. Just plug n play. I’m mad at myself for not removing it before I sold. I could have used it later on but at least I know where to go whenever I need something else from these guys. Straight shooters! Thanks etrailer!!

2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee w/ 13251 Class III Hitch - Grand Cherokee/commander
Super easy install. Right side light wires could have been 2' longer to follow the lights that would have been factory.

Great gear etrailer.com folks

by:
2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Good price, perfect fit, well constructed. More time spent removing gear from Jeep to access jack/spare lower tool and lower spare tire than to install hitch. Extra replacement plastic buttons for bumper/bracket, nice touch etrailer, they often break when removed. I used some silicone spray to remove, one broke anyway.
Next purchase will be a cargo carrier haven't decided which one. Folding would be nice. One question comes to mind, Has anyone ever been stopped by the Troopers/Police for covering the rear tag ?, Florida does not have a front car tag.

I recommend the Rola Dart folding cargo carrier part # 59550. The Rola cargo carrier measures 56 inches long x 23 inches wide x 4 inches deep of usable space. It also folds up against the vehicle when not in use and features a 4 1/2 inch rise shank to help with ground clearance. The hitch part # 13251 you recently had installed on your 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee has a tongue weight rating of 500 lbs. The Rola Dart carrier weighs about 73 lbs, so you will be able to carry 427 lbs of cargo on the carrier. Most states will require relocation of the license plate if it is blocked by the cargo carrier. The Rola Dart has relocation holes to attach the license plate to the cargo carrier. If your Grand Cherokees tail lights are blocked a light kit will be required on the cargo carrier. Rola light kit part # 59516 will pop into the oval cutouts on the carrier and plug into your 4 way connector on the vehicle. If the cargo you are carrying needs to be protected from the elements, I recommend Rola cargo bag part # 59102. This bag features built in straps to attach the bag to the cargo carrier and is constructed from premium quality water-resistant material with sonically sealed seams.

  • Is Curt Class III Trailer Hitch for a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Rated for Weight Distribution
Curt Class III trailer hitch # 13251 for the 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee is rated for use with weight distribution. When used with weight distribution the gross trailer weight capacity is 5,500 pounds and the tongue weight capacity is 550 pounds. You would need to stay within that limit or within the capacity of the vehicle, whichever is lower. You can use a weight distribution system that is rated for 600 pounds tongue weight such as # FA94-00-0600 or # FA92-00-0600 but will be limited to...

  • Compatible Trailer Hitch for a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Yes, that will be the correct hitch you need to pull a single Jet Ski with your 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Curt hitch item # 13251 you've selected has a towing capacity of up to 5000 lbs. When loaded, the weight of a jet ski trailer can fluctuate from 800 to 3,000 pounds with an average load capacity of 1,500 pounds. You'll also need a 4-way connector to the Jeep to power the trailer's signal lights. I recommend purchasing the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector...

  • Should there be Up and Down Movement in a Trailer Hitch After it is Installed
Once a trailer hitch such as # 13251 is install the hitch should not be able to move. If it does then the likely cause is hardware that is not torqued down to the specifications in the instructions or the holes the hitch uses to attach to the vehicle are rounded out, possibly due to corrosion. If the mounting location is the issue then the only way to really fix it is to either replace the part on the vehicle, which would be very expensive, or have a local welding shop fix it. I do not...

The first thing you will need are base plates on the 2000 Chevy S-10 LS. There are several options available depending on if the truck has 2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive. For 2 wheel drive, I recommend Roadmaster Base Plates, # 161-1. For 4 wheel drive, use Roadmaster base Plates, # 179-2. These are XL style base plates which means the visible part can be removed when not towing. Next, you will need a tow bar compatible with XL style base plates. I recommend the RoadMaster Tracker Tow...

That said, you may need to lower the spare tire just a bit to get the hitch up into position then you can raise the factory spare wheel/tire back up into its original location without issue. • Recommended Hitch and Towing Accessories for 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
For your 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, I would recommend the Curt Class III Receiver, part # C13182. The hitch uses tubular steel for the crossbar, and in the opinion of many people, is more attractive than the square tube steel. The # 13251 would bolt into a reinforced tubular steel cross member welded to the frame of certain Jeep and Dodge Ram vehicles. The reinforced cross member was essentially a pre-installed hitch without the receiver. Beginning with the 2011 model year, Jeep discontinued...

The tongue weight being a difference of 750 lbs and 500 lbs respectfully. The hitches have identical installation methods.
