Best Fastway Weight Distribution System for a Total Tongue Weight of 900+ Lbs
Question:
I drive a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 and I have a 2010 Forest River V-Cross ST Super Lite 29VBH camper. The GVWR for this camper is 7,900 lbs, but the hitch weight is 907 lbs. Would I be able to use part# FA94-00-1000 to pull this? Thank you,

In order to choose the correct weight distribution system, you will need to find the total tongue weight (TTW) of your towing setup by adding the tongue weight (TW) of both your loaded ready to tow trailer and any cargo stored behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle.
An easy way to find this would involve using a tongue weight scale like the etrailer Trailer Tongue Weight Scale part # e99044. When choosing a weight distribution system, you will want your TTW to fall in the middle of the weight distributions weight capacity. For example, the ideal weight distribution system for a total tongue weight of 600 lbs. is one that is rated for 400-800 lbs. of tongue weight.
If the TTW of your towing setup is only 907 lbs then the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System part # FA94-00-1000 would still work for you but is not the most effective solution. Instead, I recommend using the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution System part # FA92-00-1200 which is rated for a TTW between 800 lbs - 1,200 lbs. This TTW range will allow you to add more cargo to the rear of your tow vehicle and trailer. It will do a much better job of effectively managing sway and weight. The only other thing you will need to use this system is a hitch ball with a 1-1/4" diameter shank and for that I recommend part # EQ91-00-6120.
I have included a review video of the Fastway system for you as well. I would also urge you to take a look in your vehicle's owner's manual to ensure that your truck is physically capable of towing the trailer.
