Video Transcript for Draw-Tite Hitch Ball - Trailer Hitch Ball - 19254 Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at one and seven eighths inch hitch ball with an extra long shank. The hitch ball provides a connection point for a one and seven eighths inch coupler. It's made from a really nice steel construction with a chrome plated finish. Makes it look really nice and it also helps it to do a good job at resisting rust and corrosion. It does come with the split lock washer and the nut. It's also going to have the wrench flats on the side which makes for an easier installation when making sure you get everything tightened down properly. A few measurements to go over with you real quick, starting with the shank diameter.

It's going to measure three quarters of an inch. Shank length, it's going to measure three and three eighths of an inch. This is designed to be installed on draw bar thicknesses that's the thickness of the platform at the ball mount of one inch to two inches. It's going to have a capacity of two thousand pounds. Directly here on top it's going to say CTP one and seven eighths and it's going to have the capacity of two thousand pounds.

That's going to do it for today's look at the one and seven eights inch hitch ball with the long shank.

  • Draw-Tite Hitch Recommendation for Ground Clearance on a 2000 Subaru Outback Wagon
Since the CURT Trailer Hitch # C12270 will sit below the rear bumper of your 2000 Subaru Outback Wagon it will reduce the ground clearance on your vehicle. However, the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 36284 will give you a little more ground clearance as the area that goes around the exhaust tip will go above the tip on the Draw-Tite hitch. Whereas, it goes below the tip on the CURT hitch. Check out the picture I attached that shows both of these hitches installed on a similar vehicle as yours. I...

  • 1-1/4" Hitch Drawbar That Will Lower Trailer 4" for Towing
We do have Drawbar # 36078. It will fit your 1-1/4" receiver and has a 4-3/4" drop. It accepts trailer balls with a 3/4" shank. For a 2" Ball # 19258 will fit or if you require a 1-7/8" Ball # 19254 will fit the drawbar. If this is not what you had in mind please reach out to me for clarification.

  • 2007 Honda Accord V6 Sedan Towing Capacity and Hitch Recommendation
To answer the most basic part of this question first, you are correct that only Class I hitches with 1-1/4" receivers are available for your 2007 Honda Accord, but if your weight estimates are correct, they will be sufficient to handle this job. I did some research and according to the owner's manual of the 2007 Honda Accord, it has a 1000-lbs towing capacity; it also looks like your Yamaha YZF R1 has a wet weight of around 450-lbs. As long as your total weight of trailer and bike stay...

  • 1-7/8 inch Hitch Ball Recommendation for Use with Ball Mount BM96
There are different hitch ball shank lengths and diameters designed to fit different sized ball mounts. For the ball mount part # BM96 the recommended ball that has a 1-7/8 inch diameter would be the part # 19254 as it has a shank with the matching diameter and length needed.

  • Distance From Hitch Pin Hole to Hitch Ball Hole
Good question. I went out and measured the ball mount, part # 36078, myself. It's 7-1/2 inches from the pin hole the hitch ball hole. You can actually see the measurement taken in the video I linked for you. If you don't have a hitch ball to fit already part # 19254 is a 1-7/8 ball and part # 19258 is a 2 inch ball. Both have a 3/4 inch diameter shank to fit the ball mount.

  • Brake Controller Installation in 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon with Factory Tow Package
Brake controller installation in your 2015 Subaru Outback Wagon with factory tow package will be a straightforward process and we offer plenty of resources to help you through the install steps. Since your Outback wagon has the factory tow package it should have a 4-pole flat trailer connector at the rear bumper. Please see the linked photo for illustration. If you have a 4-pole on the car now all you need to add is a brake controller install kit # ETBC7 and the controller of your choice. The...

  • Hitch Recommendation for a 2001 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport
If your 2001 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport is a Sedan then yes, the Draw-Tite part # 36284 that you referenced would work for you. If you have a wagon model then there isn't a hitch option at this time for a sport model. For lighting you would want the 4-Pole Trailer Connector and Installation Kit part # C59496. You will need the recommended ball mount, part # 36061. For a hitch ball you would want the part # 19258 for a 2 inch ball and part # 19254 for a 1-7/8 inch ball.

  • Hitch Ball Recommendation for a Motorcycle Towing a Trailer
I believe the best option you would have for a hitch ball would be the # 19254. This has a thin neck like the # CB10Z that you referenced but it's neck also is a bit tall which would give even more clearance for the bike to lean. If you need a 5/8 inch diameter shank the # CB10Z would be your best option though. The # 19254 has a 3/4 inch diameter shank. I might add that if your hitting turns aggressively enough to require a pretty hard lean angle with a trailer connected you may need...

This Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, # 118360, would be the correct wiring kit for your 1999 Isuzu Amigo. • Hitch Ball Recommendation for Use with Ball Mount part # 36053
For a 2 inch ball to use in the ball mount part # 36053 you would want the part # 19258. For a 1-7/8 inch ball you would want the part # 19254. Both of these balls have shank diameters of 3/4 inches. Length of the threaded portion of the shank isn't super important but the two I mentioned are confirmed fits and both have different lengths.

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2018 Nissan Rogue Compatible with Tailgate Lift Assist
For your 2018 Nissan Rogue SL, I recommend the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 36542. This is a class II hitch receiver rated for up to 300 lbs tongue weight and well over the towing capacity of your vehicle at 3500 lbs. The ECU is not something we carry as most liftgates work just fine when you add an aftermarket hitch. The sensor that is often covered up at the hitch location just won't sense the movement, but either side of the hitch tube will work fine. If you have issues, then...

  • Recommended Euro Style Drawbar with 7 Rise
I may have a solution for you, but we don't have any Euro style drawbars with a 7" rise and after doing some digging I'm not quite sure they are available that tall . With that said, you may be able to use the Curt # C45591 which has a 6-5/8" rise. This would be the closest solution to the 7" you're looking for. If you were willing to use a non-Euro style draw bar, you could use the Brophy # BM96, which has a 5" rise from the top of the shank to the top of the ball mount platform. You...

  • How to Tighten Nut on Ball for Swagman Towing Bike Carrier 64675
There are a couple of options on tightening the nut on a ball installed at the end of Swagman towing bike carrier # S64675. First, if the nut is the same width as the opening at the end of the carrier then the walls of the shank will prevent the nut from turning. The ball would have to have wrench flats to turn it. The second option is a ball that has a long enough shank to go all the way through the bike carrier shank to thread on the nut on the outside of carrier. Ball # 19254 for example...

Yes; you were on the right track with the product you were looking at. • Recommendations on a Ball Mount and Lock to Fit a 2011 Honda Odyssey with a 12 inch Hitch Height.
You will need two measurements and a little math to determine the correct ball mount for Honda Odyssey. You will need to measure, on level ground, your Honda's hitch height from the top of the receiver hitch opening to the ground. Next, measure from the bottom of your trailer's coupler to the level ground. The difference between these two numbers will determine the rise or drop you will need in your ball mount. I have attached a link that will show in more detail how to choose a correct...
