Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2018 Nissan Rogue Compatible with Tailgate Lift Assist
Question:
This was in the manual. Do you carry the ECU requires as I have a power Liftgate? I want to put a class II hitch on rated towing capacity is 1100 # so lowest class fine Car 2018 Nissan Rogue 2018 SL NOTE: Tow hitches are available as an accessory for this vehicle. If a tow hitch is installed, the liftgate electronic control unit ECU needs to be replaced with an ECU programmed with towing logic for the Motion-Activated Liftgate to function properly. Thank you

For your 2018 Nissan Rogue SL, I recommend the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 36542. This is a class II hitch receiver rated for up to 300 lbs tongue weight and well over the towing capacity of your vehicle at 3500 lbs. The ECU is not something we carry as most liftgates work just fine when you add an aftermarket hitch. The sensor that is often covered up at the hitch location just won't sense the movement, but either side of the hitch tube will work fine. If you have issues, then you would need to get the ECU programmed properly, but we have not seen this issue with any vehicles yet.
With this hitch, I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118480. This will plug into your Nissan Rogue's wiring harness behind the tail lights on both the driver's side and passenger's side. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
For a ball mount, I recommend # 36053 which comes with the pin and clip. You will need # 19254 for a 1-7/8 inch diameter ball or # 19258 for a 2 inch diameter hitch ball.
