In order to find the correct ball mount for your 2001 GMC Sierra 1500 you are going to need to measure from the ground to the top of the inside edge on your truck's trailer hitch receiver tube opening and then compare that to the distance from the ground to the bottom of the coupler on your trailer while level. The difference between these two measurements will give you the correct amount of rise/drop you need to look for in a ball mount which I have attached a list of for you.

If your truck really does have a 7' 3" lift then we're not going to have a ball mount that would work for you and you would need to explore other options for a tow vehicle.
