Ball Mount for Towing Rental Trailer with 2022 Honda Odyssey
Question:
Hello, I am trying to purchase a hitch ball mount for my 2022 Honda Odyssey EX-L. I recently bought the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2inch Item # 76171 and was wondering if this item Draw-Tite Ball Mount for 2inch Hitches - 5inch Rise, 6inch - 10-1/4inch Long - 16K Item # 40332 would make a good pairing for the trailer hitch receiver and a Uhaul Trailer. I believe Ill also need to buy a hitch ball and wiring for the trailer and any recommendations would be greatly appreciated and welcomed.

U-Haul rental trailers typically have a coupler height of 18 inches. When we installed the etrailer # e98855 on a 2022 Honda Odyssey, we found the receiver height to be 13 inches. This would be a height difference of 5 inches. The Draw-Tite # 40332 ball mount offers a 5 inch rise, so it would be a pretty good choice for you.
However, I'd go with the Curt # C45336 instead. It's a little less expensive and has plenty of capacity for your needs. For a 2 inch trailer ball, you'd use # A-90. If you needed a 1-7/8 inch trailer ball, you'd use # 19260 along with an # F-2 bushing. For a trailer wiring harness, you'd need part # 118781.
I've linked to some install videos that you might find helpful.
