Super Extra Long Ball Mount Recommendation for a 2012 Toyota RAV4
Question:
Greetings, as you know the factory OEM hitch for the RAV 4 is way the heck under the bumper. An 8 inch long straight shank that comes up at a 90 degree angle was a bit short. Will this one work? I need about 4-5 inch rise and from pin hole to end of bumper is about 9.5 inches I think? The angle on this one makes me think it would work? Or perhaps this 80240 thanks, Paul

I believe the correct ball mount for you to use would be the Brophy Ball Mount # BM20. This ball mount has a distance of 13-1/4 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole out to the nearest part of the ball mount platform, and since the hitch on your 2012 Toyota RAV4 has a distance of 9.5 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the furthest point of the bumper I believe this ball mount would work well for you.
This ball mount also has a rise of 2-3/4 inches, and if you get a high rise ball like the Curt 2 inch Ball with a 2 inch rise # C40034 you would be right at your desired rise range of 4-5 inches. If you need a hitch ball that is 1-7/8 inches you would want a # C40032.
