I bought my first ball mount way back when I was broke (bought the cheapest one in the big box store). With my new trailer I needed 14k capacity instead of 10k so I double checked the mount before buying a heavier duty ball...it was rated for only 5k!! Folks, check those mounts to make sure they're rated for the job!! This one is a honker btw, love it. Side by side with old it's like brick vs bubble gum, embarrassing I haven't upgraded sooner. And thanks for the guidance.

Very heavy duty hitch, fit into truck perfectly, ball attached easily as well. Definitely very good quality especially when comparing it to other hitches I have.
I like the weight of this solid ball mount. I usually have ball mounts that are light and hollow. This is already paying dividends as I now have (1) less thing to think when I’m pulling my trailer.
I purchased the Curt ball mount over a year ago and put it to work immediately. We have a trailer hooked to it 7 days a week and tow about 750+ miles a week per truck.
I cannot tust any light duty ball mount
to hold up to the continued use we put them through. Curt heavy duty is all we purchase for our trucks and I have never had a problem with them.
I recently installed a 18,000# DMI receiver hitch on my pickup and was looking for a similarly rated draw bar to match up with it. I use the truck on my farm for pulling heavy grain wagons and dollies. Locally the strongest draw bar I could find was 12,000# so I turned to the internet and found the heaviest rating at etrailer.com at 17,000#. After placing the order I decided I should have also ordered a compatible ball at the same time. I placed another call to etrailer with my request and the helpful order rep was able to make it happen. Very helpful customer service folks and very prompt shipping. I am well satisfied all the way around.

Your product is doing its job fine. It is only used intermittently, but is always up to the task. A good product
Not easy to find a 16k lb load rated Class IV rated ball mount for 2" hitches. Was happy to find it. My hitch is only rated to 11k lbs, but opted for this one for peace of mind. Shank and ball mount is solid steel (not bent)l. Functional load rating is printed on a sticker (not etched on the shank). Was a bit bummed about that, but for the price, thought it was worth it. Upon receipt, black paint had chipped off in some areas and required a touch-up. Made in China. If you get one of these, you will also need to buy some kind of hitch clamp/shim.

When it comes to shipping hitches and some ball mounts, it is very common for them to arrive with scratches. We recommend using a rust-oleum type paint to cover the scratchesspots. This will prevent any corrosion in the future. I have a link attached for your reference. I have also sent this over to customer service for them to reach out to you.

Heavy duty ball mount and great capacities. Marked down one star due to having about 3mm of play inside of my gen 2.5 Tundra's 2inch receiver hitch. I will have to mount a set screw or find another solution for the excess play.
This item has some girth to it, which is great. I don't have to worry about bending or rusting. However, it did not come with a pin to hold the ball mount in place. I had to go out and purchase that at my local hardware store. Not a big deal, but it would be nice if it came with or as a "Other customers bought..." option.
would be 5 if not for the missing pin.

Thanks for your review and your business, Mike! We do not include the pin and clip/lock because a customer may have several different options that suit his or her application. Needed a hitch and wiring for my plumbing van. Etrailer had the best selection, price, and installation videos / guides. The electrical was super easy as well as the trailer hitch installation. I did it myself without helpers on my garage floor in 20 minutes. All you need is a 3/4 inch deep socket, 1/2 ratchet, flat head screw driver and torque wrench.
I ordered the hitch, receiver, and wiring kit for our work van. They arrived in a timely manner and were a breeze to install, thanks to the great instructions. Really helped to be able to watch the video on the website on the installation procedures.

Really like how solid this hitch is built. Makes me very confident when hauling a very heavy trailer.
This is the best and strongest ball mount that exceeds my requirements . Also, it’s well made and nice in appearance. The ball is a great one too, but it could use a place to hold with a wrench during tightening and torquing the nut. Please incorporate my suggestion.

This baby is HEAVY DUTY! Would probably be able to pull the empire state building and Its made from a solid chunk of steel so if you are in a bad neighborhood you can take off your hitch and use it as a weapon.

My truck weighs 5000 lbs and I only tow 7000 pounds.
I love the idea that this hitch has no welds anywhere and its rated for 17000 lbs. It Makes me feel more confident when it is under my 13,000 lbs haul and I don't have to worry about the possibility of crack or breakage at the weld.
A customer service rep called to verify that this was a valid order so I am sure something triggered the call to me that didn't look right when I ordered it online. The product came quickly . I would certainly purchase from them again.
