To get the highest towing capacity available on your 1998 GMC Truck I suggest the Curt Class V Trailer Hitch Receiver # C15317. This hitch has a gross trailer weight of 16,000 pounds and maximum tongue weight of 2,400 pounds. Of course you'll want to verify your truck's towing capacity since it will be the limited factor. All of the hardware is included to bolt this to your truck's frame.
If you also need a ball mount, # C45340. This will keep you around the same weight capacity as the hitch reciver will. Then for a 2-5/16 inch hitch ball # 63840 and # C21500 for a pin and cip.
