Ball Mount Rise Recommendation for 2010 BMW X5 Towing 18 inch Tall Trailer Coupler
Question:
If I install the 2010 BMW X5 Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver Class III tow package on a 2010 X5, what will the final height of the top or bottom be with respect to the ground? My trailer sits level at 18 inches to the bottom of the tongue. I am just curious how large of a ball mount rise I will need to get the trailer sitting level. Thanks,

Expert Reply:
From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground will be about 13-3/4 inches when you install the Draw Tite hitch part # 75600 on your 2010 BMW X5. So you will need a ball mount with about a 4 inch rise.
The Curt Ball mount # C45070 would be perfect for that. For a 2 inch ball you would want the part # 63845 or for 2-5/16 inch ball part # 63847.
For trailer wiring you then would want the part # 119250KIT which I attached an install video for.
