Recommended Longer Ball Mount for a Larger Turning Clearance on a 2013 Ford F-53
Question:
I would like to have my tow trailer behind my motorhome at a distance where I can make a sharper turning radius possible. The ball mount I have now is a 6 inch on a 2 inch receiver, the length of the ball mount is 11 1/2 inch. Do I have another option in length? Thank-you

I do have a longer ball mount for you. The Curt Ball Mount with a 4" Rise and 6" Drop # D-28 is 14-1/4" long from the center of the pin hole to the center of the ball hole. This ball mount will fit in 2" hitch receivers and is rated for up to 6,000 lbs GTW and 600 lbs. TW. I attached a review video of this ball mount you may want to check out.
If you are looking for a longer ball mount that is rated for more weight, you will only be able to use a ball mount that extends 12" or 13" long like # C45070. I attached a review video for this ball mount as well.
You do not want to extend the ball mount too far back as the added distance from the hitch will put stress on your ball mount and hitch and can drastically decrease how much weight you can pull.
