Ellen: Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the JR Products Hook and Keeper for Enclosed Trailer. This is going to be kind of a uniquely designed one with a 90 degree angle in it to help go around any kind of obstructions that you might have in the way of a normal operation for this. So if you need it to kind of come around like that, it should work out pretty well for you. It's just made of a plastic construction, comes with the hardware needed to get this installed.
So we'll be able to keep our trailer door open as we're loading things in and out, or as we're coming and going inside there.As far as the size for our pieces, the receiver's going to be just under 3" long, maybe 2 15/16", if we want to get really technical. And then our other side is going to be about 1 3/4" or about 1 11/16". The height is just about 5/8" for that side. For the other side, it's going to be about the same for the base. So just under 3" and just under 1 3/4".
The height here is about 1/2". Our length for the bar or for the one that comes out is going to be about 3 1/2" by about 2" by about 2 1/4", maybe. So 3" by about 2 1/4" there for that angled piece.Again, we do get the hardware included. We'll get our eight screws to keep everything in place. You can also get a bumper to go either over the mounting holes for one side or to go somewhere else in the configuration so that you can keep it from banging against the door.
If you open it too far, the distance between our mounting holes is going to be 1" by 2 1/4" center to center on those mounting holes.This is backed by a lifetime warranty from JR Products, and that's pretty much going to do it for our look at the JR Products Hook and Keeper for Closed Trailer With a 90-degree Hook. This item is what I needed and works but is VERY flimsy. One good wind and I'm sure it won't hold.
