Today we're going to be taking a look at the square corner hinge with reverse bracket for trailers. This product is from Polar Hardware. It's made from an aluminum construction. It's very strong and durable. It's going to do a great job at resisting rust and corrosion. It's a mount-on or bolt-on installation.
Hardware's not included. You would want to mount this on the corner of your trailer to allow for the door to swing fully. This bracket will allow for 270-degree door swing. It's going to feature a non-removable pin for maximum security in this area here. With it in this position, if we take a measurement of the strap length, I'm going to measure from the center of the hinge to the end of the strap. That's going to give us a measurement of right around 16 inches long.
The strap width is going to measure 2 inches wide. You'll notice that on this strap, there's going to be 3 mount holes. Those holes are going to be separated apart from one another, on center. That's going to measure 5-5/8 of inch. It's going to be the same for each one, 5-5/8.
Those holes are going to have a diameter of 5/16 of an inch. The hinge right here, we'll see that it's got a nice swing design to it. Again, it allows for plenty rotation, 270-degree. The distance we're going to have between the mount holes on the hinge, those are going to be separated all in the center by 3-1/4 inches. Those are going to give us a diameter .. Looks to be 3/8 of an inch in diameter.
Measuring edge to edge, the hinge is going to measure 4-1/2 inches. Measuring from this portion here to the very back, that's going to give us a measurement about of 2-1/8 of an inch, just that hinge. If we measure just the flat side, from this point here to this point here, that's going to give us a measurement of an inch and a quarter. That's going to do it for today's look at the square corner hinge with reverse bracket for trailers.

- Polar 16 Inch Square Corner Hinge Weight CapacityI reached out to Polar and they don't rate their hinges for weight capacity. Most of the time they recommend using 2 to 4 hinges per door for an enclosed trailer. For a Square Corner Hinge with Reverse Bracket - Aluminum - 16" # PLR2216-AS, they simply say the more weight, the more hinges needed.

From the center of the hinge to the holes going down the shaft is 3-1/2", 9", and 14-1/2" respectively. So the measurement you're looking for is about 3 inches from the center of the hinge to the end of the bend. From the center of the hinge to the three holes on the bracket are 1-1/4" for both the top and bottom holes while 2-1/2" for the center hole. We do not modify, these are sold as is.
