Today we're going to be taking a look at the over the seal hinge from Polar Hardware. This hinge is designed to bridge door moldings or door seals. It's going to give about a two and three quarter inch clearance, we can tell that by taking a measurement from this area down here, to where the strap lays flat on the surface, so if we do that measurement you can see that that's where we're going to get about the two and three quarter clearance from. This is made from and aluminum construction, the narrow bracket is designed for where spacing is limited. Mounting hardware is not included so that does need to be provided separately. Here at the hinge it's going to feature a non-removable pin for maximum security. Now if we take a measurement of the strap length, measuring from the hinge to the end of the strap, we can see that that's gong to give us a measurement of right around twelve inches so the strap length is twelve inches.

The strap width, that's gong to give us a measurement of two inches. Then you can see right here on the strap we're going to have three mount holes. Those mount holes are going to give us a diameter of five sixteenths of an inch. The distance that we have on center between each mount hole, so from this one to this one, three and one eighth and then from this one we're also looking at three and one eighths so from the center of this hole to the center of this hole we're looking at about seven and one quarter inches. Taking a look here at the hinge, this is going to give us a height, measuring from edge to edge of about four and a half inches. The mount hole separation, center on center, that's going to be three and one quarter inches.

The hole diameter for the hinge portion is going to be three eighths if an inch. If we take a look at the hinge width, a couple of measurements I want to give you real quick. From the outer edge to this point right here, that's going to give us a measurement of about two and one eighths of an inch. Now if we just measure the flat portion right here, that's gong to give us a hinge width of about an inch and a quarter. Last measurement that I want to go over with you real quick is simply the overall length, so measuring edge to edge, this is going to give us an overall length measurement of right around fourteen inches long.
