Today, we're taking a look at the backing plate for the Brophy D-Ring Tie Down Anchor. The backing plate provides the mounting point for your Brophy D-Ring Tie Down Anchor, part number DR01, which is this component here. The D-Ring bolts onto the plate here at the welded on nut. The unit is made from a durable steel construction. It features a nice black powder-coated finish to resist rust and corrosion. It's made in the USA, has a safe working load limit same as the anchor, which is 2,000 pounds with a maximum load or break strength of 6,000 pounds.
The backing plate measures, edge to edge in this direction, six inches by five inches, and that is a quarter inch thick steel. You'll also see there that we have the pre-drilled holes, one on each corner, so if you want to mount this to the underside of a deck board or anything like that on your trailer, then you can easily do that. I ordered several of these plates. All were well finished and heavy duty. The weld on the nut is inconsistent: some had a long well shaped fillet, others much dhorter.

I bought two BP1D mounting plates for the Brophy tie-down anchors. My 6’ x 10’ utility trailer will be used to haul a motorcycle or lawn tractor and I need to place rear tie-downs in different locations to secure the rear. The setup for the motorcycle is especially tricky and are located towards the front of the trailer. A second location for other equipment are set in the back. These Brophy anchors are ideal as the mounting plates are under the trailer deck. The heavy duty eyelets that come with DR1S (purchased separately) are out of the way and threaded into the mounting plate when ready to strap equipment in place. I really am happy with the cost effective way to have multiple tie-down locations

I am not sure exactly what kind of camper you are securing but having four 2,000 lb capacity D-rings should be more than enough for most any truck camper.
