Will Flexco Pull-Out Steps Work for You?
Pull-out steps are typically installed on travel trailers. The Flexco pull-out steps from Stromberg Carlson are easy to install and fold up underneath the camper for simple storage. To ensure you choose the correct size for your application, there are a few measurements you will need to take.
The Lippert pull-out steps attach to the underside of the camper chassis, directly beneath the doorway. To decide which size you'll need, locate the space available underneath your camper that lines up with the door frame, and measure the width and depth. You will need a mounting space that is at least 28-1/8" wide and 12" deep.
If it turns out you have more or less space beneath your doorway, there are other step assemblies available with bracket sizes ranging from 21-1/16" wide to 28-1/4" wide. A full list of the available steps is below.
Outriggers - metal brackets that act as an extension (LC301704 - sold separately) - may be needed for installation depending on the model of your original stairs. These provide extra length if the old steps are longer or wider than the new.
Once you know where the mounting bracket will go and what size mounting bracket you need, that spot will be used as the "mounting point" to determine how many steps you will need.
How Many Steps Do You Need?
To determine how many steps you'll need, measure from the mounting point to the ground. This is called the entry height. The entry height should roughly match the height of the steps when they're fully extended, plus 3" to 9" to account for the drop from the bottom steps to the ground. This measurement will also tell you how many steps you need.
The chart below displays mounting bracket width measurements in the first column and entry height measurements in the second column. The third column shows the corresponding part numbers. Use the mounting bracket width and entry height measurements you took to determine which part number will fit your RV. Choose the bracket size that is closest to your measurements without going over.

Since time was a factor in receiving and then replacing, my husband and I were pleased when the item arrived even sooner than we anticipated. We were able to replace the old item with the new item without any complications. etrailer is now our “go to” company for all of our camper/camping needs.
The hole placement was a little different. Couple quick portable drill mods and the steps were in quickly. The shipment was quicker than expected. Quality of the product was perfect. Staff was very helpful. I highly recommend etrailer.

These Stromberg-Carlson Flexco Manual Pull-Out Steps for RV'S - Triple - 8" Drop/Rise - 24" Wide - 350 lbs - SMFP 3100 we ordered from etrailer.com were the exact ones that came on our 32.5' 2014 Windjammer trailer by Forest River when we purchased it new. The original steps got bent when we were forced off the shoulder of the highway, causing the rear axle to drop over the edge of the road and drag on the pavement about a short distance before we could stop, bending the stairs and making it nearly impossible to lower them. Fortunately, the mounting brackets were not comprised or bent. Once we placed our order, we received the replacements from etrailer.com in just a few days. My husband had them installed in short order. They look great, and match the stairs at the other door perfectly. The price was very reasonable and customer service very helpful, pleasant and courteous. We would recommend this product and etrailer.com without hesitation.07p
I couldn't be any more satisfied with the new steps, or the help Angela provided me in the selection. The steps were a perfect match for the damaged ones on my 2008 Heartland Sundance. Used a floor jack to hold them up in place, 4 bolts to the main support bracket, 2 bolts to the back braces, and it was done in less than 3o minutes. Please see the pictures.
The new steps were indentical to the old ones except they were not bent up like the old ones. I had to straighten up a bracket that the steps bolted onto. Once that was done they fit right on. It is difficult to get the carriage bolts started because on space limitations. Other than that it not that difficult. The new steps fit great.

The steps work fine. I had to do some straightening on the brackets that hold them in place to get them to retract properly. Bent brackets not a problem with the steps. Still working fine.
Prompt service and product fits well. Stairs seem to be a little harder to use and not quite as stable as original. Stairs are overall a good product for the price.

Cant say now as I have replaced the RV.
I built a shooting house on a trailer that was 30 inches from the ground. I needed the steps to get into the back door of the shooting house, which is on wheels. If I need to move it, fold up steps was the way to go. I also needed fold up steps as the house is sitting on four jacks, one on each corner for total stability. They also fold up if I need to move the house. The steps allowed me to fold up the jacks without
interference from the steps. The steps are exactly what I needed for this project.
The steps support me as I hoped they would as I enter the house. An excellent product.
It would have been nice if you spend $xxx that you would have gotten the mounting brackets with your item. Very disappointed.

If you are talking about the outriggers, they are, at times, not needed, which is why they are sold separately. The item you need is item # LC301704.

Replacement of my travel trailer steps. Installed the mounting hardware from the old steps on the new steps. With the help of a floor jack it only took 10 minutes to install. They work and fit great.
Service was prompt and quick. My steps were delivered yesterday and I installed them this morning.

Steps have worked great during the past year, especially since I am taking care now when backing my trailer up.
The steps were a dead on replacement, bolt hole wise, for my old steps. I also must say they are much stronger and sturdier than the original steps. Very happy with the quality and service I received from etrailer.com.
The whole process and product are a 5 star rating. Ordering was easy and shipping on time. The steps are sturdy. Great down and out angle and I like the 9" width which makes getting in and out of the RV easy.

No problems..still an excellent product
This product was delivered on time and I was impressed with the quality. I needed to make a small adjustment to my existing bracket to account for the slide bar that sticks out each side of the stairs, but the bolt holes and everything else lined up perfectly.
I mounted 1 of your pull out steps on a 15’ box van 7 years ago. We have the van full of inventory. We drive a 80 mile radius to 90 shops. It is a very safe way to get customers in the van to look at our inventory. Very well built and dependable. I just purchased another one for my new van.

Great service. These are exact replacements for the steps on my Rockwood 8310ss travel trailer. My original steps caught the end of a high curb while entering a campground and no longer opened. It took three days from ordering to ups placing the new steps infront of my garage. The steps were exactly as described and will only require bolting onto the existing brackets.
Although product was acceptable it was not OEM dimensions even thought it was produced in 2016. Additionally, the stabilizer jack is small, rinky-dink, and of little use for the application advertised by manufacturer.
Of course these issues do not diminish the outstanding serviced I received from etrailer.com. My etrailer.com representative could not have been more outstanding and helpful. The order was processed, shipped and delivered in just three days and my representative stayed in constant communication throughout the process. I encourage all friends and the RVes of America to use this companies service. GREAT JOB
etrailer delivered as stated on my replacement stairs. Not only did they show up in time, they were $50.00 cheaper than a RV store 5 miles from my house-including shipping. etrailer is the first place I will look for parts and accessories for my 2015 Sportsman.
After smashing my steps against a parking lot light standard i ordered identical steps from etrailer. The steps, item # SMFP-3100, are priced right and the quality is acceptable. They operate as designed with little effort. We travel months at a time and use our steps frequently. I certainly would recommend this product to anyone.
We ordered these Flexco RV steps as a replacement after a minor accident that ruined the original steps. Our order arrived much sooner than expected, which was excellent as it was quite dangerous using the old ones. These steps actually seem to make entry and exit of our RV easier; they don't seem quite as steep as the original steps. Would definitely order from etrailer.com again. Great service.
Replaced the step on my camper with this one. Went from 2 step to 3. These did not mount up in the same holes as the old ones but a little drilling and welding and they are on. Work great, strong with non skid strips on front edge of steps. 3 step is much better than the old 2 step. Happy with this purchase. Shipped quickly.
Wow, ordered the product on Tuesday, October 25, at noon and received a confirmation email the order was received. At 5:30 that day, received an email and tracking number that the product had been shipped. Came home Thursday at 4:00 PM and there was the boxed product in perfect condition.
