I ordered a pigtail with an inverted flare and did not realize I really needed one with 1/4 inch NPT. This adapter solved my problem. I put some telplon tape, the yellow kind for gas, on the NPT side of the adapter and tighten it down. I tested all the connections with soapy water and found no leaks. Hopefully I good to go for another 5 years.

Still working great. No issues.

It was just what I needed to hook a standard propane hose to my camper propane regulator.

Still on

by:

Just brass fittings.

by:

One of the hoses on my propane regulator to tank developed a leak (I always soapy water test after tank refill). I had purchased new hoses a few years ago but they were inverted flair, my regulator and the old hoses were 1/4" NPT. These adapters updated me to the more commonly used hoses that I already had. These fittings are great quality and delivery was fast.

by:

When I finally figured out what size fitting was needed for my trailer from a YouTube video, where the Camco part number was listed, I was able to go to eTrailer and find the exact part number. This adapter allows the connection of the typically available male 1/4" inverted flare fitting to a male 1/4" NPT. I had purchased two 1/4" inverted flare hoses thinking they would work on my trailer, but mine actually required the 1/4" male NPT (real size about .5" OD) fitting. With these adapters I can use either size hose.

by:

Worked great to convert my new propane pigtails to my camper. I mistakenly bought them with 1/4 inch flare fittings. This corrected my problem and turned them into 1/4 npt fitting. It has been working great! These fittings were $8 each everywhere I looked and I found them here at etrailer for less than a few dollars each.

by:

Pesky little thing was hard to find, these guys had it . Next time I need something for the camper I will come here first. thank you etrailer

all is well in propane land

by:

After spending several hours at hardware stores I found this adapter at etrailer. It works great for getting my older (2007) gas regulator to connect to newer hoses.

A real positive in dealing with etrailer is they shipped the part the same day rather than waiting for a week to ship like other large e commerce stores.

by:

I purchased a new propane tank pigtail. I realized the connector was too small to fit my tank. So I purchased this adaptor. It work great and fit perfectly.

by:

Worked well. Make sure to use thread compound designed for LP gas. Avoid getting any on the flange as this will affect the seal. You need to “over” tighten this adapter in order to achieve proper seating of the flanges and prevent a gas leak. Check with local fire codes about increasing your propane tank beyond what your camper comes with.

by:

This is what i needed to in stall the new propane house that i got from you. i bought the better ones that were maid better. I wish that you would have told me that i mite need addaptors from the start. i hade to reouder the fitting and wate a nother week. well it is all hooked up now and works good no leaks.

by:

It is hard to find this special fitting to adapt an old style propane regulator to the new pigtail hose. I glad I checked etrailer.com. You guys have everything.

by:

Perfect fit... this is for rv propane hoses...fits new hose to regulator...remember to use lp (propane) fitting tape...

by:

High quality hose and cylinder valve connecter, the flare to 1/4" npt fitting was the perfect product enabling me to make the mechanical connection to my propane regulator.

by:

Worked as advertised

by:

My old hoses were cracked. When I purchased new ones the fitting were different. I looked online and found the fittings at eTrailer. Received them within a couple of days after my purchase. Very quick service. Will shop with them when I need supplies for my trailer!!!

by:

Meghan was very helpful in assisting my with the proper part for my propane system. I will look forward to purchasing from etrailer again. Thank you very much.

by:

It screwed into the one thing good. And then the other thing screwed into this thing good, too. 5 stars!

by:

While I have not had the opportunity to use the fitting, the quality seems excellent. I would have given it five starts, had I used it prior to writing this review.

by:

A brass adapter I needed to hook up hose for propane, a quality product.

by:

  • Propane Pigtail with Acme Screw and 1/4-Inch NPT Fittings
At this time we offer only the 20-inch-long propane pigtail with a Type 1 (also known as an Acme or QCC1) connector on one end and a 1/4-inch male NPT on the other, part # 100473-20-MBS. If you prefer you can install Camco Propane Fitting # CAM59953, which has a 1/4-inch male NPT fitting on one end, and then use the 1-foot Supply Hose # CAM59053 you already have which will connect to the fitting.

  • Converting 1/4 Inch Inverted Male Flare Fitting to 1/4 Inch Male NPT
Fitting # CAM59953 is designed to connect a 1/4 inch inverted flare to a 1/4 inch female NPT. The one end is a 1/4 inch male NPT and the other is a 1/4 inch female inverted flare fitting. It sounds like you need one that does the opposite but we do not have one. Hose # CAM59153 has the 1/4 inch inverter flare male end on one side and would screw into the larger female end of # CAM59953 but then you would still have a 1/4 inch non-inverted flare male end after that. If that is what you...

  • Can the Camco Propane Fitting # CAM59953 be Used for a Pigtail with a Fitting About 7/16 in Size
The confusing thing about propane is that the title size of the fittings usually don't reflect the actual size of the fitting itself. If your Camco pigtail has an inverted flare fitting like what is shown in the attached picture then the Camco Propane Fitting # CAM59953 is exactly what you need as most regulators take the 1/4" MPT male fitting as is shown in the second picture. Some regulators, like part # CAM59005, already come with the adapter installed but some, like part # CAM59313,...

  • How To Attach Two Hoses To One Propane Regulator
I do have an option for you but I am not very familiar with your setup and it is a bit uncommon. If you wish to attach both hoses to the same regulator assuming they are both low pressure then you will indeed need some sort of y-fitting which we do not offer but we do have the regulator and hose that you need, the Camco Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator part # CAM59005 and the Camco Propane Supply Hose part # CAM59053. The y-fitting will need to be obtained from a local hardware/home...

  • 100 lb Cylinder Set-Up To Heat Trailer In Winter
It shouldn't be a problem to hook up a 100 lb cylinder to your trailer while it is stored for the winter. As long as you have the correct fittings, you'd just need to disconnect your dual tanks from the trailer's propane line and close them, and make sure your 100 lb cylinder is connected to your trailer's propane line with a dual-stage regulator and a POL hose. It's likely that the pigtails you already have with your smaller dual cylinders won't work with the 100 lb cylinder, so you need...

  • How to Adapt From 1/4 inch Inverted Flare to Quick Disconnect Propane
Here's what you need to do. On the 4 port adapter there is a very small plug with the tether on it going into a larger adapter with the other end of the tether on it that goes directly into the barrel of the 4 port adapter. Remove the small plug, then use a 5/8" socket to remove the 1/4" NPT fitting that is directly into the barrel of the 4 port adapter. Then all you need to do is use a standard 1/4" NPT nipple of whatever length you require to go directly into the 4 port adapter with...

  • 2 Stage Regulator Replacement With Single Stage Regulator
A fix to this would be to use a MB Sturgis Single Stage Propane Regulator # 108072 in lieu of your current regulator as long as long as the new regulator meets the specifications that are required to run your propane appliance. Check your current regulator to make sure you can do the swap. You may need to buy an adapter like # CAM59953 to use your current pigtails. A replacement bracket like U-Post RV LP Gas Regulator Bracket # 37207-30405 would work for you as well.

  • Correct Fitting for Camco Pigtail 59053 to 2-Stage Regulator with Missing Fitting
Thank you for all of the details on your situation! The fitting that you need to connect your Camco Propane Supply Hose # CAM59053 to the regulator, like part # CAM59005 (without one of the fittings), is the Camco # CAM59953. This has a 1/4" Male NPT end that connects to your regulator and then a 1/4" Female Inverted Flare end that you connect your pigtail to. The reason that the title don't match up with the fittings you are looking at is because the titles refer to the propane hose...

The Camco Propane Fitting, part # CAM59953, is the 1/4 inch male NPT fitting that will allow you to attach a regulator with a 1/4 inch female NPT connector to the propane pigtail. There is no check valve built in to the fitting.

  • Can I Remove Brass Fittings From Propane Regulator and Plug Hoses Directly Into Regulator?
Yes. You can remove the Camco # CAM59953 from your Cavagna 924N and use a pigtail with a 1/4" MPT like the # 100473-20-MBS. You'll likely need some gas line tape for the threads; you can use # 37207-30025 to safely thread everything together and make sure that there is no leakage.

  • Replacement Propane Hose Needed
I suggest that you replace with the Propane Hose with Back Check - Type 1 x 1/4" Male NPT, # 37207-30855. This hose will connect your tank with the Type 1 connector and have a 1/4 Inch - Male NPT on the other for your regulator side connection. There are actually several options available to replace your Winntec 6020. A lot of propane regulators carry similar specs and are pretty comparable when it comes to quality.
