Video Transcript for Camco Propane - Regulators - CAM59323 Review

Today we're going to be taking a lot at part number CAM59323. This is the Camco horizontal two stage propane regulator. This regulator is going to maintain a constant gas pressure from your camper's propane tank. Two stages are going to ensure a smooth, consistent flow of gas. This is a horizontal mount. We can tell that because the vent is here on the bottom, and your vent is always designed to be facing downward to prevent anything from getting inside. The inlet is going to feature a quarter inch NPT connector that's a simple female pipe thread.

The outlet is going to feature a three eighth inch NPT connector, again, female pipe thread. The unit is going to maintain a constant eleven inch water column propane pressure. This is rated for a hundred and sixty thousand BTU per hour. It is CSA listed. Keep in mind, again, that the vent opening should always face downward, and when installing this using a mounting bracket, if the existing holes don't align with the regulator, you can use the provided mounting template. That's going to be on the back side of the packaging, and you can use that to drill new holes, and then attach the regulator with the screws included in the package. That's going to do it for today's look at part number CAM59323..

Worked great on the Jayco, this is for the Forest River, both plumbed to the bulk tank.

by:

Well, this is my second Camco regulator in just less than a year. I've heard reports of them being not so great, and mine stopped working (no gas gets through at all) after about 11 mos of (of course) mostly doing nothing but sitting on my trailer.

I bought the Marshall Excelsior regulator instead, and we'll see how it holds up. It looks almost exactly like the Camco, like it could be made from the same castings! So maybe it will have the same life :( Only time will tell.

by:

Well, it still works...make sure you get the plastic cap. It would have been nice if I would have seen it when I ordered it, so I didn’t have to make two orders, and pay shipping twice.,,

by:

Product was just as I had ordered and shipped fast Will use etrailer.com the next time I need something for my motor home.

by:

Work perfect for my motorhome

I had searched all over the internet for this item and etrailer.com had what I was looking for at a great price. Shipping was fast too, and it came in its original packaging. I would do business with them again.

by:

The regulator failed after 3 months of use. It was in a dry enclosed propane locker and was properly installed. Do not buy this product.

by:

I ordered this regulator and was very pleased with prompt shipping and was exactly as described in add.Good product, bolted right in on my pop-up and was on my way camping with heat for winter again.

by:

Works great on the Brew stand I made for my son. This regulator supply's the lp gas to the three banjo burners very evenly even when the tank is almost empty.

by:

Product failed after 6 months and had to order a higher quality product. I would not recomend this product. Was a waste of money and horrible quality. Left me freezing cold and with out a refrigerator or stove for over two months waiting for back order of higher quality product

by:

Exact match. Have yet to install. This regulator will be replacing original equipment LP
regulator that's over 30 yrs old. Time to service along with balance of gas line.

by:

Purchased this product to replace leaking regulator on my motorhome. product works as designed. Great response and delivery.

by:

Product as advertised

by:

bought 2 stage regulator as back up for our current unit. have not installed-but price and shipping met expectations. saw same unit in a sticks & bricks store at nearly double the price.

by:

I have a 1979 VW “AdventureWagen” put together in Northern California. The old propane system had failed. I installed this part and now my stove works!

by:

I like this one better than the single stage. This regulator seems to last long than the single stage.

by:

Service and product choice is great at etrailer. We usually go there first to check product availabity and haven't been disappointed.

by:

  • Best Horizontal Dual Propane Regulator for RV
We currently offer three different dual stage horizontal regulators for trailers. If you're looking for the best then I recommend the MB Sturgis Horizontal 2-Stage Propane Regulator part # 108221 as it's made here in the USA. The other options are the Horizontal Low Pressure 2-Stage RV LP Gas Regulator part # 37207-30385 and Camco Horizontal 2-Stage Propane Regulator part # CAM59323 which are great as well. There is always a potential for leaks but ensuring proper installation will reduce...

  • Do I Need a Separate Low Pressure Regulator for a Camco Olympian Wave Heater
Yes, you will need to use a low pressure regulator with the Camco Olympian Wave 8 part # CAM57351 but that is what the Camco Horizontal 2-Stage Propane Regulator part # CAM59323 is. Therefore, if you have the heater tied in after the above regulator then you won't have any issues. In order to attach the Camco Olympian Wave 8 to the manifold on your trailer you are most likely going to need the MB Sturgis High Pressure Propane Hose part # 100383-36-MBS for 3' long, part # 100040-72-MBS...

  • Do Propane Regulators have Built in Check Valves
We have pigtails like the MB Sturgis part # 100473-30-MBS which have check valves built into them to prevent propane from filling the second tank but the regulators like the # CAM59323 that you referenced do no have this built in.

  • Will Camco Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator Replace Marshall 260 Regulator
I spoke with my contact at Camco and she said you will want Camco Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator # CAM59313. This propane regulator maintains a constant 11" w.c. gas pressure for your camper. The 2 Stages ensure a smooth, consistent flow. The inlet connector is 1/4" NPT and outlet connector is 3/8" NPT. It will mount to your camper vertically.

  • Will Camco 2-Stage Regulator CAM59323 Fit in Place of a Cavagna 524AS Regulator
Though the design is slightly different you can use the Camco Horizontal 2-Stage Propane Regulator # CAM59323 in place of the Cavagna Model 524AS 2-stage regulator. I have linked a video review of this regulator for you.

  • 100 lb Cylinder Set-Up To Heat Trailer In Winter
It shouldn't be a problem to hook up a 100 lb cylinder to your trailer while it is stored for the winter. As long as you have the correct fittings, you'd just need to disconnect your dual tanks from the trailer's propane line and close them, and make sure your 100 lb cylinder is connected to your trailer's propane line with a dual-stage regulator and a POL hose. It's likely that the pigtails you already have with your smaller dual cylinders won't work with the 100 lb cylinder, so you need...

  • Best Propane Regulator for a 2015 Coachmen Clipper 17BH
The MB Sturgis Horizontal 2-Stage Propane Regulator part # 108221 and the Camco Horizontal 2-Stage Propane Regulator part # CAM59323 are both horizontal mount two stage regulators. You will not have any problems using either of them on your 2015 Coachmen Clipper 17BH. However, I recommend the MB Sturgis regulator as it can handle more Btu's in addition to having the capability of reducing water columns down to 9" which will allow for proper function in extremely cold temperatures. We do offer a number of propane adapters but none matches your ideal description exactly. • Troubleshooting Connection Between A 2-Stage Regular And 20lb Propane Tank
Typically most 2-stage regulators like the # CAM59323 will have a 1/4" NPT inlet connection which would allow you to connect a POL fitting like # 37207-30085 to connect to the inner threads of the 20lb tank. If this is what you have and you're still having issues with the threads not gripping it could be that the threads on either the tank or the fitting are stripped. You can combat this by taking off the POL fitting and using a type-1 fitting like the # CAM59923 which will thread into...

  • What To Look For When Replacing Your Propane Regulator
Hi William, You have a dual-stage horizontal regulator like the Camco # CAM59323, but with this being a residential setup you'll need to check the fitting size and BTU rating in order to determine the correct replacement. There's a much higher demand for residential use compared to RV use so you'll likely need to get a replacement at your local hardware store to get the correct fitting size and BTU rating. The # CAM59323 has a 160,000 BTU rating and requires 1/4" MPT inlet connector and...

Quite possibly, yes. The Camco Horizontal 2-Stage Propane Regulator # CAM59323 is a standard 160,000 Btu/hr regulator. • Compatibility of Camco Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator # CAM59323 with Propane Loge Fireplace
My contact at CAMCO tells me that the # CAM59323 is a typical low flow volume regulator that would be used on a camper. The output flow of the regulator is 11" Water Column, so you'll need to check with the manufacturer of the appliance, which in this case is a propane log fireplace. If you find that the fireplace is compatible with that rate of gas flow, the regulator should work just fine.

  • Are Hard Nose and Soft Nose POL Propane Cylinder Adapters Interchangeable
Yes, you can use hard and soft nose POL propane cylinder adapters interchangeably unless otherwise specified by the manufacturer of the product you are using it on. The difference is that with a hard nose you would have to use a wrench to tighten it. A soft nose has a handwheel used to tighten and an o-ring to make a seal.
