Today we're going to review part number C45013. This is the Curt Vertical Receiver Adapter. This is a two inch to two inch adapter. This part is designed to fit on the Curt Stealth hitches. It is designed to fit a vertical hitch. A vertical hitch would be one where the receiver tube is actually up and down, in other words, some of theDodge vehicles use a hitch like that where the tube would come down, it's behind the rear of the car so you really can't see it.What this adapter does, this part would slide up into thatvertical hitch, and then extend out to give you the horizontal hitch receiver opening that you're needing. Now the rear of this as you see, the rear of this horizontal tube is open.
The weightrating on this is five thousandgross weight towing capacity and five hundredpoundston weight capacity. Now a few specs on this. The overall length, if we measure from the center of this hitch pin hole to the center of this hitch pin hole, it's going to be four and a quarter inches. The drop would be from the center of this hitch pin hole to the center of this hitch pin hole, this is going to be right at two and seven sixteenths for the drop. Now this can, of course, only be used in the drop position as the vertical hitch opening would be coming down, so you justslide this up, only use this way, and again, this is specially designed for use with the Curt Stealth hitches only, due tothese pin hole locations. Sometimes it will not match up to other Stealth hitches, so you would need to check the measurements that are on the product page for this part number to see if it would work on your application. It's made to use a five eighths inchpin and clip, so you would slide this up into the vertical hitch, put the pin and clipin, attachitinto place, and then you need to use a pin and clip down here when you put in your accessory or yourball mount. Black powder coated steel resists rust and corrosion.The hitch adapter and 90 degree mount solved my desire to mount my electric wench on my auto trailer replacing the manual wench. See photo.
The 2" sleeve would not come out of the existing 2" receiver so I used the hitch adapter to make the transition. The etrailer experts correctly told me there would be some play in this joint. However, it works here (as this is not for towing).
I also used the 90 degree mount upside down (also not an approved application). But again no towing is involved. I did need to drill a new hole in the receiver.
Hitch was used for boat guide pole installation. Extension was added to help assemble guide pole. Hitch was fastened to trailer.
Excellent quality product! I will be using it for towing my boat in the spring with a factory hitch on a 2016 Chrysler 300 S. Nice set-up. I'll pull one pin for the off season and looks like a no-hitch appearance. Love the idea!

After using this hidden hitch for one year, wouldnt care to have any other brand! Still very top of the line product.
Used on a new Maserati LeVante. The European hitch sockets are vertical and this car only comes with a ball for the horizontal portion. I needed a horizontal socket as this one provides. However, the hole in the vertical portion was too low and interfered with bumper. So I had the dealer drill press another hole high up on the vertical portion.

I purchased this adapter for my volvo xc90. None of the local shops had any idea where to get a 90 degree adapter and hadn't ever seen such a hitch. Luckily etrailer had exactly what I needed. This is very well built and works with the Valley hidden hitches as well! Excellent product, great and accurate descriptions & I really like the measurements provided as this assured me that the hitch would fiit before I purchased it.
My wife and I could not find this product anywhere....after spending 4hours going from store to store we found etrailer.com and bam! There it was the Verical Adapter we were searching for. The hitch is hidden under the bumper of our Chrysler Pacific thus needing the 90 degree adaptor......we needed this in which to mount our Bike Rack. Works great and highly recommend this adaptor. I bought this 90 deg Curt vertical receiver adapter to work with a Mopar 82209575AB trailer hitch that I purchased off of Craigslist for my 2010 Chrysler 300C. The adapter is a tight fit but it does work just fine with the 82209575AB hitch. This seems to be a very high quality part. The price from eTrailer was just about the best I could find anywhere and it was delivered in less than 3 days from the time I made the purchase. I'm very happy with this purchase, thanks eTrailer.
I recently purchased a new Chrysler 200 and had the dealer install an OEM receiver However I still needed a receiver extension from under the car out to allow by bike rack to fit The description sounded and looked right but there was no size on the OEM receiver. I held my breath and orders it and much to my delight it fits perfect! It came quickly and I'm now able to transport my bike without damage to my new car Thanks etrailer!

Just had a factor hitch installed on my 2012 Dodge Journey by the Dealer but the Mopar vertical receiver adapter was on backorder with no delivery date for almost 1 month. I tried ordering a receiver adapter through the local Dodge dealership where I purchased my 2009 Dodge Journey. They have been unable to order one and I've been waiting for several months. My husband found this one and it is just what we needed. The fit is great and a better product than what the dealership was trying to find for us. Details and dimensions matched exactly what's shown on the website very pleased. Havn't installed it yet however I did check out the piece good workmanship. If I had to guess the weld is from 3/8 to 1/2 wide. The shaft on it is 2 inch and receiver is 2 1/2. Which is perfect for what I'm building. And if it breaks that's my fault. Due to modification or load. Thanks Etrailer.
I am very impressed with the service. I have a new 2012 dodge journey that I have not been able to use the toweing package that I have for the last ten mounths because dodge can not supply the needed receiver.This is a direct fit I am more that happy not with dodge but with etrailer.
Product was delivered on time and was ready to install. I had to make a modification and the service group at etrailer promptly answered my questions and steered me to a solution. Very happy with the results.
This is very heavy duty and nice, however, the weld on the vertical piece is thick and I cannot insert the reciever far enough to push the pin through the holes. I will have to do some grinding on the reciever to get a little more room to slide this in.
