The Curt 2 Inch Vertical Receiver Adapter, part # C45013 will fit in a 2 inch vertical hitch. It has a length of 4-1/4 inches and a drop of 2-7/16 inches. This adapter can be used for towing and has a gross towing weight capacity of 5,000 lbs and a tongue weight capacity of 500 lbs. You will need to measure to make sure this adapter will work on your 2009 Dodge Journey.
You will need to use a ball mount with this adapter to get you the correct rise that will be needed to tow your trailer with your vehicle. I am including a link to a FAQ page that will show you how to measure to get the correct ball mount rise for your application.
