What Hitches Does the Curt Vertical Receiver Adapter # C45013 Fit
Question:
Is the reason your site says can only be used in the drop position because this is true when used with the Dodge set up or is it because of structural security? I have a hidden hitch on my 64 Chevy C-10 and the receiver is directly in the middle behind my bumper. With the parts I already have, this would be near perfect if I can use in the position. This would then clear over the top of my bumper and I could purchase a ball mount that will to the correct ball height. Thank you very much for any info you can offer.

The Curt Vertical Receiver Adapter # C45013 that you referenced is designed only to be used with Curt Stealth hitches. These hitches have an opening that points down, that is why this product says to only use it in the "drop position."
If the hitch on your 1964 C-10 is a Curt Stealth Hitch then this product would work for you. If you check out the dimension picture I attached you will see why it won't just install on to any hitch opening. The distance from the pin hole on the male side of the adapter to the female side of the bracket is only 7/8 of an inch which would not be enough to install in most hitches as most would require at least 2-1/2 inches.
