Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located inside your trunk, behind the tail lights on both the driver's side and passenger's side. You will need to remove some interior trim or carpeting to access the harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead with the attached fuse holder to the car battery in your trunk. Connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed within your trunk.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

We are pleased with both the wiring harness and the Curt hitch receiver. The written and online video instructions were accurate and very helpful. All the parts fit perfectly and went together as per the instructions. It took my son-in-law and myself about two and a half hours to complete the installation.we backed the car up on steel ramps, installed the hitch and wiring harness. We ran the wire to the battery through a grommet in front of the drivers side tail light and started toward the front. Then we drove off the ramps, placed them in front so we could work under the car and finish installing the wiring. We will use the hitch to pull a light trailer and perhaps for a bicycle rack. This hitch will enable us to hall items we purchase or want to move without renting a truck or paying for a delivery. Thanks for a good buying experience.

2015 Honda Accord

I've used it about three times now with no issues. All blinkers work as they should, hazard lights are all in sync, and the brake lights function as expected.

Installation was pretty simple with the exception of running the wire from under the car up through the engine compartment by myself. A second person or a specialized tool would've made that a bit easier though.

Make sure you put in your vehicle before searching for the product. I found the product then put in my vehicle and didn't get an option for LED vs non LED headlights because the first product I found was for LED headlights so I got the wrong product. Customer Service worked with me to get the correct product shipped out quickly though.

Truly was plug and play, hardest part was routing the power wire to the battery. Installation of the tee connectors was a 10 minute operation.

by:

Great product, with clear installation instructions. Customer service was great, too.

  • How to Tell LED From Incandescent Taillights to Choose Trailer Wiring Harness on 2015 Honda Accord
There a few different ways to determine this. You can have a helper activate the turn signals, running lights and brakes. If a single bulb lights for each function (on each side of the car) then you have incandescent lamps. If you have LED's each function will be illuminated by many, smaller lamps. I'll provide you with a photo showing an incandescent lamp next to an LED version of the same lamp. The lamps shown are on a trailer, not a car but you'll get the idea. Or, you could open the...

  • Trailer Hitch, Ball Mount, Balls, Wiring, and a Bike Rack for a 2013 Honda Accord
All of the trailer hitches for the 2013 Honda Accord are Class I trailer hitches with a 1-1/4 inch receiver. This is based on the abilities of the vehicle. Two inch trailer hitches are not available. Because there are only Class I trailer hitches available, see link, you will be limited to carrying 2 bikes at most and will need to use a bike rack that is compatible with a Class I trailer hitch. For a trailer hitch, since you have indicated you may be towing, I recommend Curt model # C11496....

  • Trailer Wiring Recommendation for 2015 Honda Accord With or Without LED Taillights
The LED taillight distinction that the Trailer Wiring Harness part # C56173 has refers to the vehicle. So if your 2015 Honda Accord has LED taillights this is the correct kit you'd need. If instead your Accord does NOT have LED taillights the kit you'd need is the part # 118596. Either kit works great with LED trailer taillights.

  • Recommendation to Transport Motorcycle with 2014 Honda Accord
The available trailer hitches for your 2014 Honda Accord Sport are all Class I hitches that feature a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening. The Curt Trailer Hitch # C11496, which is confirmed to fit your vehicle, has a 200 pound tongue weight capacity. There is not a trailer hitch available for your vehicle that features a higher tongue weight capacity. This is likely because the vehicle itself is not rated for heavier loads, as hitch manufacturers will typically try to match hitch capacities with...

  • Recommended Trailer Wiring Harness for 2014 Honda Accord LX Sedan
There are two different trailer wiring harnesses available for the 2014 Accord. The wiring harness you need will depend on whether or not your Accord has LED taillights. If your vehicle has regular incandescent taillights, use part # 118596. Or, if you DO have LED taillights, use part # C56173. Both trailer wiring harnesses would plug inline with the wiring harness that feeds the taillight assemblies. A wire will need to be ran under the vehicle up to the battery. I've linked you to a...

  • Recommended 4-Way Flat Vehicle Wiring Harness For 2015 Honda Accord Coupe w/ Incandescent Tail Light
I recommend using the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118596 on your 2015 Honda Accord coupe with the incandescent tail lights. This will give you a 4-way flat connector for your trailer. In my experience the Tekonsha powered modules have the least amount of issues compared to the other Curt and Hopkins options.

Out of the available trailer hitches for your 2015 Honda Accord I recommend going with the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11681 over the Curt item # C11496. They are both identical in Class and weight ratings and come with a 1-1/4" receiver. Please note that Class I trailer hitches are only rated to carry up to 2 bikes. The Curt warranty requires a Stabilizer Strap # 18050 for all non-supported loads, like the Yakima HoldUp # Y02443, but it doesn't have the weld stop inside the receiver...

  • Recommended Trailer To Carry Beach Cruiser Bikes Behind 2013 Honda Accord
I did some research and found that the towing capacity for your Accord is 1,000-lbs and the tongue weight capacity is 100-lbs. We do not have a hitch mounted bike carrier that would allow you to carry the weight of two beach cruisers added to the weight of the bike carrier. I may have a solution for you though. I recommend using a trailer like the yakima Rack Rack and Roll Trailer, part # Y08106. Although this is a more costly option, it would allow you to tow behind your Accord and carry...

According to my Curt representative, the procedure for installing their Class I hitch # C11681 on a Hybrid model 2015 Accord is no different from the model with the standard gasoline engine. The hitch is listed as a fit for ALL models of the 2015 Accord Sedan, including the Hybrid. If you'll be using the hitch only as an attachment point for a Class I compatible hitch mounted accessory like a bike rack or cargo carrier, The Curt # C11496 would be an excellent choice. If you'll be towing, you'll also need a wiring harness, a ball mount and a trailer ball. If your Accord has LED taillights, use part # C56173 or # 118596 for vehicles without LED taillights. • Does the Power Wire of the Tow Ready Wiring Harness for 2014 Honda Accord Need to Run to Battery
I can only recommend what the manufacturer of the Tow Ready Wiring Harness # 118596 recommends for routing the power wire, which is that you will need to route the wire to the positive side of your vehicle battery. The purpose of routing it to the battery is to protect the delicate wiring of your 2014 Honda Accord. In the event of a short on your trailer, even though it has minimal lights, this added protection will ensure that you would not damage the wiring of your vehicle. This could...
