Location of OEM connector

Once you've plugged in the 12-pin connector, plug the 4-way harness in beneath the vehicle, behind the driver's side rear bumper

Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plug on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

I got this because I needed to haul a trailer for one time and of course I can have it for future hauling. It was easy to install and works great. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is I wish it had the little flip cover you can put on your bumper area to make it look like a outlet cover as right now I have to hide my wiring hanging under the bumper.

by:

The blue connectors will not fully seat. This is the second set that i cannot get them to seat all the way.

Oh, that is not good to hear. You will want to start by removing the relays and verify that the pins aren't bent and/or that there is no debris inside the connectors. If you are still having issues after you have checked the pins, please let me know.

2012 Nissan Xterra

Great wiring harness. I had to return it though, as it turned out I was already factory pre wired. My bad for not looking closer.
etrailer happily helped me return it, and I ordered just the 4 pole wiring harness. Great customer service - I love working with etrailer.

2023 Nissan Frontier

Easy to put relays in. Located behind passenger kick plate. I wrapped them in fabric so they would not bounce around. 4 prong easily plugs into connector on Driver's side on frame near bumper. May need a long nose pliers and a regular pliers to pull the protective plug out.

by:

The relays don't fully snap into the wire harness. They do function just fine. As it gets older (as a rule) with summer heat plastic changes. I see it being an issue where the relays are stuck on the harness too much.

by:

The patch cable Curt T-Connector seems to be made well. I have not installed. It was shipped and and received in a timely manner. If the review came a few days later, I could possibly provide an excellent rating.

by:

Easy, easy, easy!
It would have been
nice if plastic sheathing had came with the 4 way harness, but luckily I had some to dress it out.

by:

Connects perfectly with the stock wiring. Looks factory. Good product to have if your Xterra didn’t come with a tow package

by:

Always good results from etrailer with your instructions and videos can't go wrong.

by:

This was a simple install. I’ve done some before where you actually tap into wire harnesses. This kit is truly plug and play! Awesome kit!

by:

Excellent product delivered ahead of schedule with clear directions and videos to support installation.

by:

provided everything I needed and more. It was securely packaged and in mint condition. I will be able to tow my trailer legally when it's dark.

by:
2019 Nissan Frontier

I received my hitch and wiring harness kit for my 2019 Frontier within a few days after ordering. The items were well packaged, and nothing was damaged. The install instructions/video on your website were spot on. I had the whole thing installed and ready to go in less than an hour. Fit and finish of the etrailer hitch is very nice for the price. I would definitely recommend etrailer.com to others.

by:
2019 Nissan Frontier

So far I've received and checked out the parts ordered. They arrived promptly and seem to be of excellent quality. Instructions enclosed seem adequate and I'm looking forward to a straight forward installation.

by:
2016 Nissan Frontier

Easy installation... the online videos really helped.
I had an existing harness that was installed with the hitch and the running lights were not working and the shop couldn't figure out the problem!
I removed the passenger side panel and saw the relays were missing. I decided to just tackle the fix myself and it worked out great.

by:

After watching several videos on [online] about this wiring harness and the ease of installation I ordered one for my 2019 Nissan Frontier. My installation was as easy as the videos depicted and I couldn’t be happier. Congratulations on manufacturing a high quality product and providing easy to follow, detailed instructions and videos.

by:

Great product! Wish I'd bought this first.
I wasted alot of time trying to get running lights on my Nissan Xterra pigtail. I had brake and turn signal only. Excellent customer service- Molly solved problem with this harness. Best of all - she saved me over $200.00 that Nissan wanted just to diagnose problem. If I can install this, anyone can. It only took 10 minutes and I had running lights.
Thank you

It was as easy as your company said it would be to put together, and I will continue to buy from this company like always

by:
2015 Nissan Xterra

Very simple install, plug and play electrical connections, very simple to use and very good quality product. Very happy it was put on in PA on Friday afternoon and hauled a uhal trailer to GA Saturday morning. Had 0 issues. Definitely a 5 star rating

by:

I have a 2017 Nissan Frontier it toke about 15 min to remove kick panel on passenger side and plug right in used die electric grease on plugs works great

by:
2019 Nissan Frontier

All great very happy .

by:

Right part for the right car. Order shipped the day I placed it, arrived earlier than scheduled. Combined with their numerous videos on installation, hard to think of a better service package out there. So easy, so simple. And for less than half what my local parts shop quoted (and didn’t have in stock)
I’ve got three emails confirming order, shipment and delivery.

I’ll be back when it’s time to wire up the Rogue.

by:
2011 Nissan Frontier

As ordered, worked perfectly.

by:

The video made installation easy. Everything went together as shown. (Note that this kit did not have the noise dampening foam shown in the video.) I used the 4-pole flat mounting bracket which made for a more stable and convenient setup.

by:

Easy transaction and very easy installation, it took about 20 minutes to install and now I have trailer lights, I highly recommend this company

  • Parts Needed to Install 4-way Connector on 2014 Nissan Frontier to Connect Tailgate LED Light Bar
Most of these tailgate light strips connect with a standard 4 way trailer connector, so the Curt # C56225 is exactly what you're looking for. This kit comes with the 4 way plug and all of the relays you'll need to install on the vehicle to activate the trailer tow lighting circuits. I've linked an installation video of this harness for you to refer back to during installation.

  • Hitch and Towing Accessories for 2019 Nissan Frontier
We sure do! I'd recommend the etrailer brand Class III receiver hitch, part # e98869. To complete your towing setup, you'll also need a # C56225 trailer wiring harness to provide a 4 pole connector. For a ball mount, use the # 2923 and for a 1-7/8 inch trailer ball use # 19261 or # 63845 for a 2 inch ball. To see installation videos for the parts I recommended, click the provided links.

I spoke with my contact at Draw-Tite and he said the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 75291 is compatible with all styles of the 2014 Nissan Xterra, including the S model. I have included an installation video of this hitch on a 2013 Nissan Xterra for you to check out. The model year is different but the installation is similar. If you plan to do some towing I recommend the etrailer ball mount kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts, 2 balls, a hitch pin with clip, and a carrying bag. For...

  • Is Nissan Jumper Harness and Relays Available By Themselves for a 2005 Nissan Frontier
The jumper harness included with trailer wiring harness # C56225 is not available by itself. The relays are, # C57000, but that jumper harness is not. You would have to get the whole kit unless a Nissan dealer sells just the jumper harness by itself. It might end up costing more for the Nissan part. If you did get the complete kit you would at least have a spare 4-Way just in case.

You don't need to upgrade to a new kit. Looks like you purchased 7-Way # 118267. It does not use different relays. It sounds like me the trailer connector is pinned out differently than the vehicle side connector. What is likely happening is the trailer brakes are wired to the pin associated with the 12 volt circuit. On the vehicle side connector the brake output pin is in the 5 oclock position. The 12 volt pin is in the 1 oclock position. On the trailer side connector make sure the...

At this time we do not have the relays and wiring connector sold separately for the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56225. It sounds like you either didn't install them yet on your vehicle or they have become damaged and need to be replaced.
