Today on 2016 Nissan Frontier, we're going to show you how to install the Curt T-Connector vehicle wiring harness for factory tow packages offering the 4-pole flat trailer connector. Part number is C55441. Now to determine whether we have a factory tow package or we don't have a factory tow package, it's really easy way to figure that out. What we want to do is turn on our headlights, then we'll head under the rear of the vehicle. We're going to come to the underside of the vehicle on the driver's side frame rail here. We're going to see a black plug and a gray plug.
We want to remove the cap that's over the end of the gray plug. Just press down on this tab right here and then slide it out like that. Now we're going to use a test light. Just want to ground off to a part of a body. Now we use our test light and we're going to test each of our connectors here and that's the signal we're looking for.
Closest to the outside of the vehicle and closest to the rear, if we have that signal, all we'll need is our plug. What I'm going to do is just kind of route my 4-pole right in the end of the frame rail there, come out of the side. That's going to just give us a little bit of support. We'll take our plug and it goes right into our gray plug just like that. We can round it up right behind our bumper and you'll see here we'll just take the provided dust cover, slide it around the end and place our cap bar, just like that. That'll keep it up and out of the way.
We could do a zip tie right around the hitch here, kind of keep everything nice and tidy, up and secure. Now all we'll have to do is pull down our wiring. Let's test it out and make sure it's working as it should be. We're just going to use a little tester here. We'll start by turning on our headlights. That'll turn on our running lights and we'll want to see that constant signal.
Now our left blinker, our right blinker and now our brakes. With everything working properly, that completes our installation of the Curt T-Connector vehicle wiring harness for factory tow package, part number C554411 on our 2016 Nissan Frontier.

It is my opinion a great product.
After years of fighting with my 7 pole factory connector I decided to change to a 4 pole connection. I asked Etrailer a few questions and they confirmed this would fit my OEM set up. They provided detailed instructions and actual pictures of my vehicles point of connection. This product works great and I now longer have trailer light issues. Highly recommended.
This is my second harness. The first one lasted 4 years when the running lights connection stopped working. I assumed the wire got damaged some where but I couldn't find where the issue was. It was just easier to get a new harness since it's not expensive and real easy to install. I ended up having to use some of my own zip ties since the ones that come with it are short.

Hi Dave. This is the first time that i install a Hitch on my 2008 xterra. I install the hitch and the OEM 4-pole flat connector. Do i need to install the 3 relays harness for the the tow to function properly. what does the job of the 3 releys?

Still working just fine.
The Curt receivor hitch was easy to install and the directions were straight forward making the instalation a snap. The wiring harness was also quick and easy to install. The products were shipped out and received quickly.

my 12 year old granddaughter and i installed wiring,hitch and ball in about 45 mins.
Exact fit to my Nissan Frontier. Good quality of materials, length and accessories. Good price. Easy to order. Good information on order status. The biggest problem encountered was with the micro-small, difficult to see retainer clip on the Nissan designed connector cover. I eventually got it off but I had to review a YouTube video several times with stop action and zoom. I was close to using a grinder and slow burning the pieces over a fire.

Product is great & came fairly quickly but unfortunately its the wrong connection. The one I originally ordered was not immediately available. A very pleasant gal from customer service called to let me know & said I could wait or I could go with a cheaper version that was also for my Nissan Frontier 2005. This product as a substitution has 4 wires instead of 5, and 1 connector instead of 2. Not going to work.
I just bought this wiring harness for my 06 nissan frontier,I had watched a video of the installation and it worked just like the video showed,it fit perfectly and the installation only took 10 min.I am very satisfied with the product and the service.
Great Product, it was plug and play (very easy to install) and it has been working great for about a year with no problems.

works great, i actually had a hard time finding out if this was the specific part for my truck from other places but the operator at etrailer assured me this was the part I needed and it was, its been working great
plug and play install, took 30 mins. to bolt it together. this would be my third hitch great product, great service. thanks. again.
It was so easy to put on, I thought I must have made a mistake. I put tie-wraps on original wiring, not hitch, and they were plenty long enough.

Easy to use. These are the 3rd and 4th harnesses that I have bought. I keep extras around because they do get to a point when they can no longer be cleaned. My harness is on the exterior at the ball.
I'm happy with the quality and ease of use.
easy install ! The hardest part was getting the plug cap off the factory wiring harness.
Great quick t-connector, however it lasted 2.5 years. All terminals worked except the ground. Maybe a short?
Ended up buying a new onet since they are inexpensive.
