Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.

Today we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to use Bulldog Winch's 13 piece ratcheting vehicle tie down strap set, part number BDW20350. These straps are ideal for just about every car load that you could want. Each strap is rated for about 3,300 pounds. So working together, that means you have a total of 6,600 pounds for both forward and backward motion. These straps are ideal for both lowered and lifted vehicles. The eight foot length of the strap will work great for your lifted vehicles, making sure that you can reach your tie down points.
The included axle straps will also help for your larger axle vehicles. And the axle straps measure three feet long. All straps are two inches wide. And on your lower vehicles, the axle straps will allow you to position your tie down hooks in a way that would make it easier for that low body clearance.It features a twisted hook for an easy connection to your tie down points. And has a spring loaded latch to ensure that it doesn't come disconnected.
The same features on both ends of your straps, so it's easy to connect your axle straps as well. The extra wide thin hook allows you to feed it underneath brake lines, and between tight spaces to ensure their only wrapped around the parts that you want to hold, and not damage any of its components. The straps are made of a no-stretch, high-strength polyester material that'll resist tears and abrasions. The axle straps have an integrated protective sleeve to prevent excessive wear. Both the hooks and the ratchet, are made of a gold zinc plated steel, so there'll be corrosion resistant.Additionally, the handle has an ergonomic design, making it easy to cinch your vehicle down tight.
You'll receive a storage bag as well with your kit, so when you're all done using it, you've got a place to store everything and throw it in the back of your vehicle or truck. We'll begin by getting our axle straps in place. You want to take these and wrap it around your axle. Now, depending on your vehicle's configuration, it is going to vary. You can also wrap it around the frame, if you don't have a good connection point.
We'll take our axle strap and going to go over our rear axle here. Once we get it wrapped around there, we can just hook it to our straps and then to our trailer. Now, I know on our trailer here these axle straps are too long, or trailer's too short, so we are going to need to take it around one more time in order to complete that.Now we can get our strap connected down to our tie down points on our trailer. Next, we'll prepare our ratcheting end. We want to take one end of the scrap, just poke it down to that opening split, get it all the way through. And then we're going to pull that slack through. Now we're going to make our connections, just slide the hooks on there. Then you can attach the hook on the other side of your tie down point. Now we can pull out any slack that we've got in there and start ratcheting it down. We'll then repeat that for all of our remaining straps.Now we can take the included excess tie down straps, and wrap up any excess that we have. And now with it all strapped down, we're ready to safely haul our car. Whether you're taking it to a repair shop or to race day, you're ready to go. Overall these more or less do the job, however, the hook interferes with the handle under tension and they cannot be locked. I see this as a pretty major flaw. With some rigorous pulling, you can get the handle down to lock, but the design should be better.

Very pleased with the quality of these straps. Have used them about 10 times hauling my car to the track and they have held up well. Ratchet mechanism is smooth. Carrying bag is durable and great for storage. Rarely have to cinch straps down tighter from stretching. Only complaint is the way I need to position and strap my car down doesn't leave a lot of room for the ratchet mechanism action near the front bumper. But it works and is no fault of the product. Would buy again.

This is a pretty sturdy and well-made set of straps. I'll be using them to tie down my Subaru Outback to a 16' Aluma trailer. The Outback has frame tie-down points but the front ones are too close to the front of the vehicle, and the back ones are just not conveniently located. So I'll be using the axle straps around the control arms. What I like about this set of straps is that the ratchet is located right next to the tie-down point on the trailer and thus easy to get to (and also makes it possible for the straps to be shorter, which is good because the distance from the car's control arms to the trailer tie-down points is not very far--just a few feet). I think this strap set is going to work nicely.

What I like about the straps is that the hooks are connected directly to the ratchet which allows me to tighten the straps without laying under my car. Safety hooks and length of the straps are good.

They are excellent for hauling cars as I have commercially. I used a single car carrier and crossed the straps to ensure maximum tie down. The only thing needed to keep them usable was a can of WD-40 for the ratchets movement. Great set
