Video Transcript for Review of Bulldog Winch Spare Tire Tie Down Strap - BDW20363

Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, I'm gonna take a look at this Bulldog Winch Ratcheting Wheel Tie-Down Strap for oversized spare tires. As you can see, this is a Y-shaped ratcheting tie down strap. So they'll let you secure an oversized spare tire horizontally in your truck bed, your trailer or even on a roof rack. You can see the Y shape configuration. It'll apply equal pressure to three different points.

Right here on the tire to hold it in place. Right up here on these two. There's buckles that'll let you adjust the straps to accommodate the tire size. And the maximum tire diameter will work on is 40 inches. Now, I want to zoom in showing you on the hooks.

All three of the hooks are the same. They're a stamped steel hook. That'll connect to attachment points on your truck or your trailer. You can see the clasp that they have on these. So when you go to hook 'em, you hook it up and then this clasp will close shut.

So, it'll prevent any accidental detachment from any D-rings. The ratchet itself right here. It is a nice heavy duty ratchet, has a nice ergonomic, contour handle that will cinch the strap tight into just by cranking it. And then if you pull up on this handle in the middle, it'll release it and you can put it all the way down when you're done cranking and storing it. Now, the webbing on this, you can see the webbing on it.

It's just a no stretch polyester webbing. Has a gel coat on it to resist tears and abrasion, and the width on it is two inches. Now, a few specs on this tie-down strap. The maximum load or break strength is 6,000 pounds. The working load limit, which will be a third of that, is 2000 pounds. But, that should do it for the review on the Bulldog Winch Ratcheting Wheel Tie-Down Strap for oversized spare tires..

This is a great product. As described, easy to assemble, light weight. I needed a solution to carry my spare tire for my 2020 Forrest River NOBO 16.2. The NOBO line comes with Rhino tracks to put accessories on them. The camper has the tire mounted on the bumper, but I needed space for a bike rack. I ordered Aero Bars and mounts from etrailer, and this basket as well as the tie down. Worked Great!!!

I use this to hold the spare tire on my RZR and on my flatbed trailer. I like how the ends are captive and lay flat. Very nice!

I used this to hold my spare tire on for Ultra4 racing. While racing the toughest one day race in the world (King of the Hammers) I didn’t have the tire come loose at all. I seen several spare tires from other racers scattered out over the 100+ mile race course. I also rolled in another race and the double shear welded on mounts I had bent a lot and the strap was still as good as new. Can’t put much more of a test to it than that.
