  • Drop legs minimize jacking time and help to level the trailer on uneven ground
    • Legs adjust in 1" increments

  • Outer tube width: 2-1/2"
  • 1-Year warranty

Note: Landing gear is designed to stabilize a portion of your trailer's weight, not to support the full GVWR of your trailer. Do not use landing gear to lift your trailer or RV during tire changes or service work because doing so will exceed the capacity of the landing legs.

Stromberg Carlson's landing gear was designed with safety in mind. The motor, manufactured by Lippert, won't trip circuits or cause problems with the coach's electrical systems. In addition, the IP-rated switch will not spark, so it can be mounted safely in the bottle-gas area.

Convenience is also a hallmark of this product. An inner drop leg on each jack makes leveling easy by allowing the jack feet to reach the ground quickly and at varying heights, saving time and thus reducing the draw on the trailer's battery. The cage pins that secure the drop legs can be replaced with spring-loaded pull pins (LG-119113 - sold separately) that allow for single-handed operation. Large, rectangular, pivoting footpads are included, but you can use larger, 9-inch-diameter pads (LG-210475 - sold separately) instead if you often camp on soft ground.

This system and its parts were designed to be compatible with most of the other fifth-wheel landing gear on the market, including Atwood and Lippert. If you're replacing your old landing gear, you can install this set from Stromberg Carlson using your existing mounting hardware.

Troy, I am sorry to hear that the motor has stopped working for. Have you checked the 12V power line to make sure that it is still receiving power? I would also check the ground to make sure it still has a good connection. If the motor does need to be replaced, we have it is part # LG-142178 on our site.

Let me start by saying this review is about the product, not e-trailer. etrailer is great. I love doing business with them. Their prices beat anybody, and the free and FAST shipping is a bonus. Now to the review of the LG-3 landing gear. The pros of this product are they are a direct replacement for the Lippert system on my trailer. No cutting, drilling or welding. They fit in the original brackets. I installed them while camping in about 2 hours with simple hand tools. The cons are they are a direct replacement for the Lippert system on my trailer. They use the same weak motor, that struggles to lift my trailer. The kit was missing bolts and pins and I had to use my old hardware until I could get back to town to buy new hardware. I wanted to go with the Bulldog 10K system, but wanted something that work with my Lippert remote system. The original system failed. I suspect this one will too. Next time I will go with something heavy enough to do the job. Check out the before and after pics and the pic of what can happen when your jacks fail and you have to resort to using hydraulic jacks to lift your trailer. A $4000.00 repair that could have been much worse.

So far these are working. I got the higher torque model, which operates at a lower speed. I dont necessarily like the slower speed, but hey, at least they go up and down and the trailer hasnt fallen on my truck again. I am still disappointed that this landing gear is supplied by the manufacturer. It is woefully inadequate. As a side note, it is impossible to raise these legs with the coat hanger they give you for a hand-crank. This thing is ridiculous. That is why I keep a set of bottle jacks on-hand just in case of emergencies, and hope I never have to use them again.

Thanks so much for the follow up. If you do need to use your bottle jacks in an emergency situation, we do recommend to chock your trailer wheels and minimize all trailer movement as much as possible since bottle jacks are less stable than your primary landing gear.

i had ordered the Stromberg Carlson landing gear to replace the broken set on my 5th wheel. When the package arrived the box was pretty rough and the motor was not in the package. I emailed etrailer late on a Thursday night and they emailed right back and by Friday morning they had already shipped out a replacement. on the following Monday UPS picked up the original and dropped off the replacement package. What an easy company to work with and the customer service is top notch. As for the landing gear set it seams to be better built than what the RV manufacture originally installed. Quality is better and the legs them selves are heavier so i am sure they will do a better job and should last longer than the original set. Very happy with the purchase and using etrailer.

by:

Box was ripped open I inspected and all parts are there, only problem the cross bar is not long enough. I had to use the old rod.

We installed the landing gear for our Montana.... it was a perfect fit. We highly recommend you. Thank you

by:

The motor on my 2002 Carriage Cameo landing gear went bad. This motor is louder than the original one was but it is also faster than the original one. The legs are a couple of inches shorter but not hard to work with. I do most of my own work on my vehicles, so found them easy to install.

With a few minor modifications, I mounted the landing gear on our 1998 5th wheel and all is well. Has worked flawlessly since. Thanks for the fast delivery and great service.

Outstanding product. Installed easily and works flawlessly.

I have a 2008 Keystone Montana Mountaineer 345DBQ. My Lippert Landing gear had broken with age and wear causing my truck and fifth wheel had become one. I was desperate to get the landing gear fixed for a trip in 6 days. Sandy J assisted me on the phone on a SUNDAY afternoon and was able to have the parts on my doorstep by noon on the following Thursday. The installation took me less than two hours and the landing gear works perfectly. It is quiet and operates very smoothly. I recommend etrailer to my family and RVing friends. They saved my vacation!

by:

The jacks do not have grease serts and no way to keep the gears and drive lubricated. The motor is wired backwards so the legs operate opposite of what the buttons indicate.

by:

I would recommend to anyone who needs parts for their travel trailer.

Etrailer keeps you informed on the progress of your order and if you have any issues they resolve it asap.

Great place to do business with.

by:

This landing gear was perfect for my trailer. They are really strong and can lift just about anything. I will say though, they are very slow. The electric motor isn't all that slow but doing it by hand takes a long time. But that's just a backup anyways.

by:

I replaced my landing gear with this unit a year ago. It fit perfectly on my 2007 37ft keystone challenger. Easy to install, took about two hours to complete. Not overly powerful motor but as good as original equipment. My trailer weighs 12000#. No issues so far.

by:

The landing gear that I bought from Etrailer was the exact one I needed. The lady that helped me did a great job. I was not sure of what I needed but she knew the correct parts and the correct size. I am very happy that I bought from this company.

by:

Received product as promised and in good condition. Installed it yesterday without too much fan fair. Working on any RV is always is treat. The only thing that didn't seem to fit was the cross rod, it was too short to go across our 5th wheel and ours isn't an over wide one. Just used the old rod and so far everything works fine. I didn't measure the width when we were ordered I concentrated on the length of the main tubes. All is good

by:

etrailer was extremely helpful finding a replacement for my RV 5th wheel landing gear. I have a '08 Cardinal 3100RK and the RF landing gear failed. The LG-3 was a drop-in replacement so I did not have to use the weld-on frame brackets that come with the package. I had to do a little grinding on the "follow" leg but otherwise it was a simple installation.

by:

I replaced both landing gear, motor and gear box on my fifth wheel. I was able to install all of it within a few hours with very little assistance. Mandy was very helpful from choosing the right set to keeping me informed on the shipment. I will definitely purchase all my trailer parts from etrailer in the future.

by:

Received in a timely manner. Exact fit. The original landing gear on out fifth wheel had gotten very weak and would stall out during the lifting process. The LG-3 lifts our 33 footer with ease.

by:

They work good a little under powerd compared to the original ones if I run them for more then 10 seconds lifting the trailer the fuse burns not sure why but they get the job done

by:

Fast, free shipping, three days from order to porch. Installed easily was almost a direct replacement for the manual landing gear that was on the trailer. The 6500 pound motor is fast but not very quite. Beats hand cranking any day of the week.

by:

The LG3 system was a direct replacement for my original Atwood system.spacing was correct but I needed to grind about .020 off the top of the existing bracket. The jacks then bolted in perfectly. However the wiring diagram is incorrect for the leads to the motor from the switch. Just reverse the polarity by switching the wires.
The instructions are vague.

by:

Delivered right on time. Installation was quick as these were an exact replacement part. Had 5th wheel back to normal in no time. Now I can drive my truck again! I would recommend etrailer to anyone with an RV. Great service..

by:

Happy with the product so far. It was easy to install, the harness was complete for the motor. The only issue I had was the switch plate got cracked during shipping and the switch operated backwards from the label, but just have to switch wires around to motor to correct. Will see how reliable the motor is because the trailer gets used a lot.

by:

This is not the first time I have ordered products from etrailer. Received this products within a week when ordered. Install the replacement jacks from the orginals work great. Thank you

by:

This unit was installed to replace the identical unit that failed. It operates very smooth and does the job. The failed unit was completely dry of lubrication on the jack screw that is attached to the tube that telescopes up and down. Venture Manufacturing now lubricates these and suggests periodic lubrication.

  • Replacement Landing Gear For 2004 Forest River Sierra 5th Wheel
In order to pick out the direct replacement for your landing gear on the 2004 37 Ft Sierra toy hauler I would need to know the measurement between the mounting brackets. The most common measurement is 17-1/2" but if your landing gear brackets do not measure 17-1/2" you can remove the brackets and weld the new ones to the trailer.
