Video Transcript for Fulton Boat Guide Review

Today we'll be taking a look at the Fulton 50" Boat Guide, part number FGB1500100. The Fulton boat guides are going to provide a visual cue when loading your boat on your trailer. They extend up out of the water so you can find your trailer the first time, every time. They're a simple clamp on installation with no drilling required, and all the hardware's included. The non-marring marine grade PVC will insure that your boat remains protected. It's adjustable within the brackets, so we can move it out or in, so it's going to fit a wide variety of boat holes. That that we've gone over the features we'll go ahead and show you how to get it installed.

Keep in mind everything we do on one side we're just going to repeat the same step on the other side. We've already got our back guide on in place. We're going to install some here at the front. The first thing we need to do is we're going to need our guide on. We're going to need our bottom plate, our top plate, and two U-bolts. We're going to take our bottom plate and we're going to install it in this fashion right here with our single holes towards the boat there.

We'll go underneath, put our top plate in this position here. We're going to go over the top with the U-bolts. Go in those first holes that we talked about before. Then we're going to go with the closest ones that we can, as you see there. Then we're going to loosely install our hardware on the bottom.

With that in position we're going to take our included hardware. It's going to be a lock washer and a nut, and we're going to need four of those to go on. We'll get each of those started. Now with that loosening saw let's go ahead and grab our PVC guide on. We're going to slip it in just like this, so it sits right on top of our trailer's frame. When you position this you just want to adjust it to the depth that you want.

We're going to put it about an inch away from our boat, and then we can tighten it the rest of the way down. Now we're using 9/16 socket wrench to get that tightened down. What you want to do is you want to alternate in between so you can a nice even fit. That's pretty secure. Last thing we need to do is turn our attention to our end cap here. We want to make sure that our end cap stays in place, so the kit comes with two screws so we can do so. We're going to drill a pilot hole on either side, and then put those in. We'll take out included screws and we'll put those in place. With both guide ons installed that's going to pretty much do it. That's going to complete our look at the Fulton 50" boat guide, part number FGB1500100.

Works great with my 19’ sailboat which I frequently launch and retrieve in strong crosswinds and currents. Holding up great. Wish i had bought them 15 years ago

by:

Great product ! Very easy installation.
Very quick arrival. Excellent experience with etrailer.com

by:

Good customer service follow up!!! Thank you!!

by:

excellent item a perfect fit on my boat trailer thanks

by:

PRODUCT IS VERY EASY TO INSTALL AND IS ADJUSTABLE. IT IS A VERY GOOD PRODUCT. FAST SHIPPING AS ALWAYS

by:

Ok for the money but a bit flimsy. I would recommend spending a few $ more for the guides where the pvc pipe pushes on to a galvanized steel mount, as I expect they would be sturdier than this all pvc guide.

by:

Amazing. I wasn't able to trailer my boat by myself before, and now with these attachments I don't need any help putting the boat back on the trailer

by:

Installation took 2 people and a deep socket ratchet wrench, but WOW!
I've struggled for 20 years to get my boat on, with 2-3 tries each time I take it out of the water.
The first time I tried it with the guides, it slipped right into place the first time!
I'm thrilled!

by:

These guys are always great! I've ordered several times from etrailer and everything has always shipped promptly, arrived on time or early and most importantly, always the right stuff!

by:

Great product, was easy to install and seems sturdy, the shipping was lightning fast. Thank you.

by:

The products I ordered came in one shipment and arrived earlier than I expected.

I will use etrailer again in the future for all my trailer needs.

Good job!

by:

I received my order in record time. I installed the guides on my boat lift and everything went perfect. My neighbor is impressed.

by:

Prompt courteous efficient service and delivery!!! Highly recommend etrailer.com to my friends!!

by:

seem to work satisfactorily--caps came off on first and second trip, so should have some way of securing them--not necessary for function, cosmetic!!

by:

Great
As advertised

by:

These worked like they said they would. Easy to mount, not much else to say...

by:

Was easy to install.
Has held-up go
od

by:

I am on my second set of these...They are durable enough, but when a tire blows, or you catch the side of gate, it can snap the guide off...

by:

Fits well and easy to install.

by:

Product was exactly what I wanted, good quality and super fast shipping. Very pleased customer, I will be back. Thanks

by:

this product works great

by:

Highly recommended for boats 20 foot and under.

by:

Good fit. NOTE: hardware is not Galvanized. Might last a year in saltwater.

  • Mounting Trailer Tail Lights on Fulton Boat Guide Part #FGB1500100
You can certainly mount lights on the poles, however if the lights you choose pick up their ground connection through the mounting studs, you will need to run a jumper wire from one of the mounting studs on each lamp to the trailer frame to complete the ground circuit.

  • Recommended Boat Guides For 1990 Stingray V-Hull Boat On Loadmaster Trailer
With the I-beam construction of your Loadmaster trailer you can take a quick measurement to make sure the boat guides we offer will fit. The CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons, part # CE27636 are designed for boat trailer frames that measure up to 3-inches x 5-1/4 inches. The post height is 75 inches. For a 50-inch tall boat guide I recommend the Fulton Boat Guide, part # FGB1500100. This will fit trailer frames up to 3-inches x 5-inches.

  • Recommended Boat Guide-Ons For 24-Ft Pontoon Boat
I recommend 60-inch Black guide-ons like the CE Smith, part # CE27646. I recommend going with the 60-inch because you can always cut the upright PVC to a shorter length if you wish. If you decide on 50-inch, you can check out part # FGB1500100, which is only available in White.

  • Boat Guide-Ons for a Boston Whaler Classic Montauk and Trailrite Boat Trailer
No customers have said specifically they were using CE Smith guide-ons # CE27620 for a Whaler Classic Montauk. The overall height from the top of the pipes all the way down to where the metal support arm starts to turn towards the trailer is 46-1/2 inches. There is a 50 inch tall model from Fulton, # FGB1500100. And The 60 inch one, # CE27640, could work if you trimmed some length from the PVC pipes.

  • Boat Trailer Guide-On Recommendation for Ebbtide Mystique Deck Boat
Boat trailer guide-ons don't carry a weight rating, they're meant to provide a frame of reference to help guide the boat onto the trailer. A guide-on set like the CE Smith # CE27610 is made of metal, so it'll be strong, but it provides a roller to protect the boat's finish.

  • Replacement Guide Tubing for Boat Trailer
The Fulton Boat Guide - PVC Construction - 50" Tall # FGB1500100 does not have the guide tubing as a separate replacement part. You would need to purchase the entire kit. I went to our warehouse to measure the uprights and hardware of the Fulton Boat Guides # FGB1500100 so that I could determine their adjustment range once installed. Please refer to the linked photo I prepared for you. On each of the uprights the straight horizontal portion that fits inside the mounting hardware has 11-inches of usable length and the length of the mounting brackets is 4-1/2-inches. The difference between these dimensions gives us the range of horizontal adjustment possible,...

  • Will the Fulton Boat Guide # FGB1500100 Fit a TrailStar Boat Trailer
The mounting bracket that comes with the Fulton boat guides # FGB1500100 can be turned to fit the mounting needs of your trailer. While it may take some creative maneuvering I am confident it will work. You also may be able to attach the guides to the galvanized step area by drilling through it and attaching the brackets that way. I have also included a link to all of the boat guide options we carry. There may be a better option based on your trailer design.

  • How Wide is the Fulton Boat Guide For Mounting on a Pontoon Boat Trailer
I pulled the Fulton Boat Guide, # FGB1500100, from the warehouse and produced a short video showing the measurements you will need, see link. From the closest part of the bowed upright to the end of the PVC tube the measurement is 15 inches. From the same spot to the inside of the closest U-Bolt the measurement is 13 inches, when mounted on a 2 inch square tube frame. Your frame size will dictate this measurement. The upright is constructed of solid PVC that I measured at just over 1/4...

  • Replacement U-Bolts for Fulton Boat Trailer Guide-Ons
We have u-bolt kit # CE11416 from CE Smith that could work for you though it is a replacement for CE Smith Guide-Ons like # CE27620 which a little different than the Fulton model. The Fulton model has top and bottom brackets whereas the CE Smith guide-ons do not so the u-bolts might not be long enough depending on the height of your frame. It would probably be better to go with replacement hardware kit # CE11452-A.

  • How to Adjust CE Smith Bunk-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers # CE27600 to Keep Boat Centered
The CE Smith Bunk-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers # CE27600 can be adjusted for the best fit with a given craft. As you noted, you can adjust their side-to-side spacing to help keep your hull's strakes from contacting the center roller brackets. Also, the Bunk-Style Guide-Ons can be set at an angle, with the stern brackets a bit further apart than the bow brackets. This will create something of a V-shaped entry way for the boat that might help get and keep the keel in the roller. A set...

The u-bolts we offer with the most similar dimensions to what you need is the part # UBZC716X212X400 which is 4 inches long and has an inner width of 2-1/8 inches. Normally this is used to secure 2 inch square trailer axles. I attached a review video for this for you to check out as well.

You might want to try CE Smith u-bolt kit and bracket kit # CE11452-A. These are pre-galvanized and not raw steel but the edges are exposed steel so priming and painting is recommended. They fit frames up to 3 inches wide and 5-1/4 inches tall and they take 3/8 inch nuts, included. The brackets are 4-5/8" long x 3-7/8" wide.
