Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Thule replacement hook. This hook assembly is for the Thule T2 bike carriers. It is going to work with all three of those models that you see on the screen there to hold your bike in place. This is going to be an exact replacement from Thule so you don't have to worry about fit issues or compatibility problems. It is gonna fit right in place of that original hook assembly.
Just like the original, it's gonna have this cover on there to help protect your bike's frame, prevent it from, again, any scrapes or scuffs on it. So overall, great option here. The hooks that hold down the bike wheel had rusted through on Thule T2 hitch rack. I was faced with buying a new rack or fixing this one. I ordered the hooks, and my rack is like new! This repair saved me hundreds of dollars and hours of assembly and installation. Thank you
I hope this are better than the original hooks, only time will tell.. I hate Thule for having thin, rust prone hooks on their racks! My 5K.bike almost fell at 65 miles/hr! .it was hanging by a back wheel strapas the hooksnapped!Replacing the hook is a whole days work as the bolts rusted out too! For$xxx,they should have provided atainless and bolts and better metal or aluminum even.!I guess that is why they sell replacements parts! But etrailer have nothing to do with that! I'm just glad you carry the parts,deliver them fast and often best prices!You rock! Thule?? Questionable quality for premium prices!
My rack was backed into by another car and the original bike carrier arm was severely bent. It's fantastic that Thule makes their racks with a full set of replacement parts so that I was able to just replace the parts I needed without the need to buy a whole new rack.
I bought this hook based on a suggestion from the Thule rep that it had been redesigned to accommodate snow bike and 29er tires. Turns out, this is exactly like the older models and doesn't change the fit of the wheel. It's a fine product if you need a replacement, but it didn't change the fit of the wheels. There may be some 'redesigned' version out there, but this isn't it. If you want to fit bigger tires on an older T2, replacing the ratchet arm is more likely the solution.

It was great that I could find the exact parts to fix my old Thule classic hitch rack after the hook rusted out. The only thing to note is you need to order the bolts separately (I ended up getting some at the hardware store rather than paying shipping again).

My original hold-down hook padding had become quite worn from my fat bike tires so I ordered a new one to go with my new ratchet arm and new fat bike. Looks like new except that Thule does not include new nuts and bolts with their replacement parts so all the new parts are held in place with old faded hardware.
This was to replace the factory hooks on a Thule rack. They have a design flaw that causes them to rust badly. Mine rusted nearly thru and was not able to hold a bike.
Hopefully the new ones are made of better metals and paint.

Exact replacement for our SportWorks bike rack hook. Easy to change out. Hope to get another 9 years on the back of the motorhome for this product.
The wheel hook replacements are inexpensive and delivered from etrailer quickly. I would not hesitate to use etrailer again in the future.

WS able to replace several parts without having to spend much more replacing the whole bike tack. It is as good as new now, with a 1/4 of the cost of a new one!!
