Replacement Arm and Fat Tire Adapter for a Thule T2 Bike Rack

Question:

Hi. I have a Thule t2 hitch rack that Ive loved for many years. I got a fat bike which has 27.5x4.5 inch tires and bought the Fat Tire Kit for the rack, but I found that the arm of the rack will not go over the tire, it seems too short. I thought perhaps I had the older model T2, so I asked for a new arm for Christmas. When I got it, I realized that it is the same size as my old arm. So, I guess my question is, is there anything I can to do get the T2 to work with my fat bike? Seems like either a longer arm or a longer/wider hook might make it work. Thanks.

The longer arm that is offered for the original Thule T2 is the Replacement Lockable Ratchet Arm Assembly for Thule T2 Bike Racks item # 752-1272-001. It is 31-1/2 inches long overall which is about 2" longer than the original item # 753-3579. I recommend checking the part numbers and measuring the one you got for Christmas to see if this is the one you need.

The Fat Tire Adapter Kit for Thule T2 Platform item # TH919 is also available but only addresses the width of the tires in the tire cradle.
