The kit is excellent. However in my experience I discovered that not all Falcon Tow Bars use the same kit. As I discovered the pistons in the RM-910003-50 kit are just a bit shorter than the ones in my Falcon Two Bar. After contacting Roadmaster regarding the slight difference I was advised that I needed Kit RM-91003-80 and that I should not use the tow bar until I installed the correct kit. It appears to be a change based on production serial numbers, so it pays to check closely before ordering these kits.
On further investigation on the e-trailer site I discovered the "80" kit.
Just a note on replacing the slide locks. It takes patience and a good means to level up and adjust each slide arm to get all the bushings in the correct position prior to inserting the tension bolt. You will need space to work and wood blocks and shims to support and level each component to make the reassembly.
FYI The kit instructions are good. I found that it is essential to remove the "Shoulder Bolt at the tow bar collar before attempting to unscrew the collar. From general appearance it may seem as though the shoulder bolt simply passes through the collar...not so, it actually passes through a recess in the end of the threaded slide rod. This holds the collar in position and prevents the collar from unscrewing until the bolt is removed.

It was easy to install and works as it should. I ordered another one for my other tow bar today.

by:

The kit parts appear to be good quality, everything needed was included and the enclosed instructions are very clear and answered my questions about installation.
Thank you.

Quick shipping and item was as described

We bought a used RV.
It had a an old
Roadmaster 5250 tow bar. It needed the complete rebuild kit which was not in stock. The reps(I talked with several as I didn't know what to ask the first one) were all helpful and courteous. They found two separate kits which make up the complete kit so I got what I needed. They actually had Roadmaster drop ship one of the kits to me directly.
I also needed the Quick Disconnect bar kit for the 5250. They helped with that also. They also had the 5250 release tool.
They even had the cover for the old Falcon so when I recondition and paint the old bar it will look and stay as new.
Great folks to deal with.
They are close enough in price to the big "A" so the extra couple of bucks is worth it for the expert advice.
Thanks!

I ordered parts for my tow bar from etrailer. This company communicates well, and follows through on what they say. I was concerned about not being to install this part myself, so Lori sent me the instructions before ever receiving the parts. I received the parts much quicker than expected, and will be able to continue my journey. I also ordered a bike rack a few months earlier. Very pleased with the quality, and again this very solid company.
Thank you etrailer and especially Lori.

I was very happy to locate this kit at etrailer.com. I also purchased kit RM-91003-65 at the same time. Both kits are required to do a complete rebuild of the towbar. They arrived exactly as promised and I have installed both, which saved me around $500, the cost of a new towbar. Installation was straightforward but you do have to "read between the lines" in the included instructions in order to get it right!
I couldn't be more pleased with etrailer.com. I was able to use PayPal, which eliminates the credit card hassle. I occasionally order from various places online and this was definitely one of my best experiences. I immediately received an order confirmation with a shipping notice several hours later. Great customer service and follow up.

I rebuilt my Falcon 5250 with this kit and followed the instructions to a tee. The epoxy to hold the sleeves in was applied exactly as per instructions. The sleeves are coming out just like before I rebuilt it so that's just wrong. I spent several hours doing this job and needless to say I am not happy.

by:

Bought a used Falcon 5250 tow bar. Got this kit installed, painted the thing and good as new. One suggestion, include the large square plastic end caps used on each bar.

by:

Thank you for a quick response, and the kit that was just what I needed to repair my Falcon 2 towbar.

The passenger side of the towbar would not "lock" so whenever I made a turn, it would jerk. It is loking fine now.

Thanks aain

Work fine. A little tricky to do, getting the knobs in the right place and put on took some thinking. Would prefer they be threaded because if not heated up they can break. They are to fragile in my opinion, that's why the 4 star.

  • AutowLok Feature on Roadmaster Falcon 5250 Tow Bar Will Not Unlock
I assume you are asking about the Autowlok system on your Falcon 5250 tow bar. The tow bar has been discontinued. If it is locked in the extended position you want to make sure you are on level pavement when trying to release the Autowlok system. Any unlevel surface can put the arms in a bind and cause the problem you are having. Since the arms do not go in and out while being used you can use the towbar if it is in the extended position. If you can manage to break it free you may want...

  • Troubleshooting a Roadmaster Sterling Towbar with a Stuck Arm
The first thing you should do is check the bar with a straight-edge to determine if it is bent. If you determine that it is straight you will need to disassemble it and clean it. There is a nut on the forward end by the pivots, and a keeper assembly that installs with circlips at the lever. I would recommend you take pictures as you disassemble it so that you will know how it reinstalls. Next step is to clean it like you never want to clean it again. Next, you will want to reassemble it...

  • Round Nut is Stuck on the End of the Arm on a Falcon 5350 Tow Bar
First, use some spray lubricant such as PB Blaster or WD40 and let the nut soak for about 15 minutes. Remove the shoulder bolt and collar ear from the round nut. Then, using a long screwdriver that is small enough to fit in the hole in the round nut but long enough to provide leverage, turn the nut to loosen it. If needed, reapply the lubricant and let it soak again. Once removed you can continue the installation of # RM-910003-50.
