Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this complete repair kit for the Roadmaster Stowmaster Towbar. Now this kit will replace the hardware and the auto lock buttons that are on your Roadmaster Stowmaster Towbar. It does include everything shown here on the table. Comes with a nice set of detailed instructions that'll describe, with pictures, how everything goes together.
But basically this kit will contain the components to replace the Stowmaster shoulder and yolk boat, the inner and rear bushings and the auto lock button assemblies. But that should do it for the review on this complete repair kit for the Roadmaster Stowmaster Towbar.

This kit was very good. Sanding down the blue plastic, bushings, was the most difficult part. I used a batt powered sander, instead of the recommended grinder. The rivets snapped off before they were tight in the hole. I recommend sending about 10 rivets, in the kit. The instructions were easy to understand. I used my bench vise, it made the job safer and easier. It was not in bad condition, for being 20 years old, but now it is in excellent condition. I labeled the stainless steel bars, with a sharpie, so I put them back correctly. Thank you. I did not need the buttons or pins, I saved them, in case I do someday. I always recommend etrailer to anyone that needs your products.

It is just what I need to rebuild the Roadmaster tow bar that came on my new/old Bronco II. I haven't had time to do the repair yet, but I will come back and give a review on how it went. Thank you, Greg S.

This rebuild kit restored my 25 year-old Roadmaster Stowmaster hitch to like-new working condition. It was getting a little stiff to telescope and the buttons were sometimes hard to get to release. No more. Not hard to install at all. I expect to never have to buy a new hitch. As usual, etrailer is the go-to vendor for all my towing needs.

I haven't actually installed this yet (this weekend hopefully). I will say the parts arrived on time and in good shape. The instructions I found seem clear enough, and from what I've learned and heard from IRV2's forum, the folks here at etrailer are knowledgeable and ready to help if I have any issues.
What's interesting, I find I'm looking at their site now instead of that big box website to get things for my RV and related equipment as their prices are the same or less than the other place and the support and help is off the chart great! So yeah, I will certainly be talking these guys up!

How is it working out? GREAT! The tow bar is working like new. I can connect and disconnect the toad quickly and smoothly and the bar slides and stows away the same.

Everything necessary to replace the parts that are prone to wear. The instructions leave a little to be desired as it's sometimes necessary to read between the lines. Got it done though !

I completed the rebuild a month after I received the kit. It was pretty easy with great instructions, and it works like brand new. Just be sure to clean and polish the push bar before you reassemble, and it will slide smoothly. I have towed it a few times and works great.
