Replace the bushing on your older Roadmaster Falcon tow bar (5250).This part probably cost about a nickel to manufacture if they charge 10 bucks for it. Look for something in the hardware store. It just doesn't seem worth it
I ordered a rebuild kit for for Falcon 5250 towbar. I have 200,000 miles towing my 2000 Explorer four down. It was time for a rebuild. Like new again. I used the VOOM for cleaning it up.
I have 200,000 miles on this Roadmaster Falcon 5250 towing a 2000 Ford Explorer 4 down. I have replaced some bushings at about 100,000, and just did the rebuild with the above kit. Other than my paint job, the tow bar is like new again. Nice and tight at all connections.
We bought a used RV.
It had a an old Roadmaster 5250 tow bar. It needed the complete rebuild kit which was not in stock. The reps(I talked with several as I didn't know what to ask the first one) were all helpful and courteous. They found two separate kits which make up the complete kit so I got what I needed. They actually had Roadmaster drop ship one of the kits to me directly.
I also needed the Quick Disconnect bar kit for the 5250. They helped with that also. They also had the 5250 release tool.
They even had the cover for the old Falcon so when I recondition and paint the old bar it will look and stay as new.
Great folks to deal with.
They are close enough in price to the big "A" so the extra couple of bucks is worth it for the expert advice.

It’s not a 5 star review on the bushing but the customer service. I had purchased a rebuild kit for my tow bar several months ago and finally got around to overhauling it. When I read the directions they said if I had a serial number for an older model to order the different bushings. I ordered them and then started the rebuild and noticed the kit in fact already had them. I called etrailer and Timothy J. Fixed the order and refunded the purchase immediately. Thank you ..
After trying to find a replacement bushing for my older Roadmaster towbar, etrailer was able to solve my problem by contacting the manufacturer and got me the right part. Very helpful folks.
I have not finished my draw bar project. I was able to buy a 1 yr old towbar on craigslist. I'll finish my project after I return to Florida in the fall. My old bar was older and the first repair kit came with a different bushing. You helped me out with that but the correct part came just as I was leaving. If I have problems I'll be back in touch.
