Video Transcript for Redline Trailer Brakes 5-8 Review

Today we're going to review part number 5-8. This is the lock washer for the 7/16 size brake mounting bolt for 7 inch and 10 inch brake assemblies. This part is made to work with the other parts that we sell separately. This is the 7/16 size brake mounting bolt which is part number 7-75. It is sold separately. It is listed on this product page as a related product.

The lock washer is made to go on there, and also the other piece that we sell separately, it's made to go with is the mounting nut for the brake assembly for 7 and 10 inch brake assemblies. It's part number 6-17 and that's made to screw on to the . and all 3 of those pieces again are sold separately. That should do it for part number 5-8. This is the lock washer for the 7/16 size brake mounting bolt for 7 inch and 10 inch brake assemblies..

Had to order these separately...the brake kit should come with these.

Very courteous and professional. Timing of shipment is awesome. If delays in shipping, the company maintains updates to the company.
Very professional staff. We are very pleased with this company.

by:

One of the brake assemblies came short two mounting bolts. Installing them tomorrow.

by:

I purchased electric brake parts for a tow dolly. The staff at etrailer guided me thru the selection process and offered a perfect solution. It is nice to have a company like etrailer and their staff of true professionals. Everything had been absolutely perfect one year after install and expect many more years of service from these components. Thanks etrailer.

by:

I bought for these brake assemblies. Installation was straight forward and after a year of use and about 3500 miles, they spray to be performing well. My only concern is one of the four occasionally sticks which heats up that wheel. Backing up a short distance seems to release it, but I'd like to feel more confident that it's working correctly.

by:

Hardware was correct and they worked fine for my brake assemblies.

by:

Hydraulic trailer drum brakes. Received within a few days. Easy to install, not that complicated. Needed a second person to help bleed the brakes.

by:

The 5-8 lock washers for the four bolt brake mounting flange are an excellent replacement on my 1997 Coleman Fleetwood Bayports popup camper that I am close to finishing a restoration process on. They fit perfectly! Very happy to purchase an excellent product from the fastest shipper I have ever come across. I am blown away by the professionalism with this company!
Thanks

  • Titan Brake Assembly Free Back or Universal Difference and Installation, Hardware and Flanges
The difference between the Titan Galphorite Uni-Servo Hydraulic Trailer Brake Assembly part # T4445300, and the Titan Galphorite Free-Backing Hydraulic Trailer Brake Assembly part # T4423500, is that that part # T4423500 is a Free-Backing brake assembly. It will not apply brake pressure when the trailer is in reverse. So which brake assembly to choose is your choice on whether you want to have brakes on the trailer while in reverse, the part # T4445400, will allow you to have brakes in...

  • Parts Needed to Install Electric Brakes On 1995 Coleman Destiny Royale Trailer
To make sure that you get the correct parts, I would need to know the inner and outer bearing numbers stamped into the metal of the bearings. There are different 5 lug bolt patterns. Use the FAQ I have linked to measure for bolt pattern so you can get the correct hub and drum assemblies. If you do not have EZ Lube axles, you will not need EZ lube hub and drum assemblies. If you do have L44649 inner and outer bearings and the seal has a 1.987 outer diameter and 1.5 inch inner diameter,...

  • How to Determine if 2,000 lb Electric Trailer Brakes Will Fit
I can help you out here, and there are a couple of things you'll need to know to determine the fit of 2,000 lb electric trailer brakes. First, you'll need to make sure you have the correct brake mounting flange on your axle, one that has hole spacing 2-7/8" on center. If you don't, you can have one welded on with part # 4-34. The other thing you need to have is a hub with a 7" inner diameter for the brakes to fit in. I made a diagram for you below which may help, and that's all you need...

  • Replacement Hydraulic Drum Brakes for a 1999 Seadoo Trailer
Check the mounting pattern of the brakes you have now. The Demco brakes, # 40715, mount on a 4 bolt mounting flange with the holes 4 inches apart on center side to side. The surface of the drum where the pads tough is likely to be 2-1/4 inches, especially if you have 13 to 15 inch wheels. In the 10 inch hydraulic brakes you are pretty much limited to 10 x 2-1/4 so its a safe bet that these are correct. The matching left hand side brake is # 40716. If you need additional hardware use #...

  • Parts Needed to Add Electric Drum Brakes to a Trailer
The 10 inch brake assembly # AKEBRK-35R-SA (and matching left hand side # AKEBRK-35L-SA) is just the assembly itself. A complete assembly is the backing plate, shoes, magnet and the components used to secure them to the backing plate. The only thing that is needed is the nuts, washers, and adjustment hole plugs. The axle will have to have brake mounting flanges welded on to mount brakes. A brake mounting flange looks like # 4-35 or, on the end of an axle, it would look like # TRU74FR which...

  • Trailer Brakes Recommendations for a 3,500 lbs Boat Trailer Axle
You have the standard brake mounting flanges on your axle. If you want to get really technical, the bolt holes should actually measure about 1/16 larger than 2-3/4. That is the standard dimension for 3,500 lb axles. If you are looking for hydraulic brake assemblies, I strongly recommend the 10 Inch Free-Backing Dacromet Brake Assemblies, # AKFBBRK-35L-D for the left hand and # AKFBBRK-35R-D for the right hand. Free-backing brakes will not lock up when you are backing up the trailer and...

  • Converting 3500 lb Axle from Idler Hubs to Electric Brakes
The brake mounting flanges, whether they be 4 or 5 bolt, have a standard hole spacing to fit their appropriate brake assembly. No worries about the brake assembly matching with the existing one on your axle. A 3500 lb axle like what you have will use a 4 bolt flange. You will need to get the numbers that are stamped on your existing bearings, in order to confirm the fit of the # 84557UC3. Your current bearings will need to match the bearings of the replacement hub. The # 84557UC3 uses...
