We engineered our Solera manual awning to be easy to use. Our hook and turn manual operation allows RVers to easily expand and retract the awning with little effort. Great against the elements. The anti-scuff, anti-mildew fabric with a quality sewn hem holds up against the elements. The awning fabric is also cold crack protected up to minus 25 degrees Fahrenheit.
Intelligent design. The Solera manual awning can also be easily upgraded to power. There is nothing to disassemble and our universal fabric design reduces SKU count by thousands. Industry first adjustable friction joint. In the extend position, the Solera manual awning is equipped with an industry-first friction joint that allows for easier side-to-side adjustments.
The awning pitch can be set manually by adjusting the articulating arm tip one side of the awning to allow water runoff. Quick facts. The Solera manual awning has an easy-to-use hook and rod system. Simply insert the hook into the awning head and turn the rod clockwise to extend and counter-clockwise to retract. Its internal gearbox allows you to stop the awning at any point during extension or retraction. With the Solera manual awning, there's no rafter arm to lock in place.
The friction joint provides added stability, so it doesn't need to be locked in place like other awnings on the market. Fabric care. If, for any reason, the Solera manual awning must be retracted while it's still wet, it must be extended again as soon as possible and allowed to dry before retracting for storage. Making sure the awning is dry before storage will help prevent the formation of mildew and extend the life of the fabric. Mildew does not form on the fabric itself, but on accumulated dust and dirt. Periodically clean vinyl or woven acrylic fabric using a mixture of one quarter cup of dish soap mixed with five gallons of warm water. Liberally slosh the mixture on top of the fabric, roll the awning up, and let it sit for five minutes. This will apply the fixture to both sides of the awning.

Replaces the drive head of your Solera manual, crank-style awning.I would have given you a higher rating but you sent the wrong part the first time. But you made it right and I finally got the right part.
etrailer has the best website. Very helpful and informative. I received the replacement drive head for our awning earlier than expected.
I have not installed it yet. There is something rattling around inside the unit. I am hoping it is a non-critical part or chip of plastic that has no bearing on the operation of the unit. It seems to work okay on the bench. I will install it in the next few days and that will be the real test.

Oh, no! I am sorry it seems to have a piece taken out - please let us know if the drive head is malfunctioning in anyway!
Haven’t installed as yet but appears to be a perfect replacement. Install video is also excellent.
Received my order promptly, and was perfect replacement. Just hope it last longer than the original.

Product is working just like original. Hope it lasts longer.
I replaced two Solera awning motors before finally getting fed up and spending an obscene amount of money on this manually-operated one. I think our awning is a bit distorted, which makes it a little bit more difficult to wind up, which is probably why the motors burned out. But I still contend that Solera is using the very cheapest garbage and that a decent motor could have handled the torque.
Not a fan of Solera at all because they make rock-bottom-quality products at rather high prices. Now I've spent a ton of money and made a bunch of waste because they can't just use higher quality components.
All this is to say nothing about etrailer - they're a great website and easy to deal with.
I just hope this new drive head lasts...

Works perfectly! My one year old awning broke.....I was not impressed. But etrailer had competitive pricing, free shipping, and the part arrived faster than promised. Very happy customer! Now I am back camping with my awning all like new.

One year in and the awni g is still working perfectly
My electric motor on the awning quit working so I decided to replace it. I searched for a replacement and found it. $xx.xx, I also saw a manual replacement head for $xx.xx. No brainer, spend on luxury or longevity. I went with later and it has worked great. Was a little difficult to install by myself, but I got it done. Great mod.
I received the part very soon after placing order. At first I was frustrated because there were no instruction on how to install because I am a 65 year old woman without anyone to assist. I called your office and the staff contacted the company and the manual did not help with installation because this was not a total install. I figured it out and was able to make the repair on my own. After installation I was able to roll the awning in with no problem.
Good price, quick delivery and good overall service.
