Jeff: Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at this Solera power awning drive head. Now, this Solera power awning drive head assembly is very easy to operate and install. This drive head assembly is what will extend or retract your power awning on your RV. It comes complete with the front driver head cover, the back driver head cover, the motor, and the drive head gear kit.This drive head assembly will feature an easy excess manual override. Should a power outage occur, the awning can still be easily extended or retracted with a cordless power drill.
All you have to do is pop off this rubber plug and that'll gain you access to your connection that you put your drill on there and it'll operate your awning. When you're not using it, just put your rubber plug back in there to protect it.Now this is universal for all Solera power awning assemblies, including the flat, the short, and the pitched assemblies. And this should be used with, but this does not include the Solera power idler head, the roll bar, and the fabric and awning arm assemblies.This does replace the Jayco part number of 0-2-2-6-6-6-0. Keystone RV part number 3-6-5-8-9-1, and the Thor part number 0-3-3-1-2-3-6. But that should do it for the review on the Solera power awning drive head..

Replaces the plain-style drive head of your Solera 12V, 18V, or Smart Arm electric awning.This was a perfect fit to replace my old, burned-out unit. I have a Solera-powered awning on a 2015 5th wheel. The motor unit had stopped working. I found this replacement on etrailer. I was worried about it fitting, even though it looks identical to the picture. However, it worked perfectly. The only modification I had to make was the actual wiring connection. Mine was 7 years old and the connection was not a plug as on the new replacement. I simply cut off the plug connector and the connectors on the old unit and wired them together with a butt-splice connection, wrapped in electrical tape and all is good.
It took two attempts, but etrailer shipped the correct part. The second shipping was fast. It came in good condition. They made sending the incorrect part back very easy. Customer Service was easy to talk with.

Very easy to replace. Works like the or iginal.
The head that came with the trailer died after 3 years, so bought this one to replace. Youtube had a couple videos showing how and it went pretty smoothly, other than the connection was different than what was on the trailer, but just cut the ends up and wired it up that way.

The part was the exact samething as factory install. Free delivery in 2 days...I was shocked and excited to be able to install the part the same day it arrived.
It is exactly what I needed to replace the broken one. The manufacturer took his good old sweet time shipping it but etrailer got it right out as soon as they got it. All of my experiences with e-trailer have been great.

Update: it’s been a year now and the drive head is still working like a charm. I’m very happy with this unit. I’d definitely recommend this product.
